similar to how military industrial complex works

2020-01-08 03:37:38 UTC

the health outcomes give the discipine to the system, easy to monitor

2020-01-08 03:37:52 UTC

same way we can monitor quality control of an aircraft part for a rhino

2020-01-08 03:38:14 UTC

or how the USMC School of Infantry is performing, etc

2020-01-08 03:38:33 UTC

the illusio of a totally 'private' sphere is just that

2020-01-08 03:38:41 UTC

corporations have limited liability, IP laws, etc

2020-01-08 03:38:53 UTC

Alright, let’s focus on higher education. I don’t like the system just as much as you don’t. Debts, loans, and all of that other stuff is horrible. Which is why I focus on creating a better, lower-priced education system. I have a plan to fix education without getting the government involved.

2020-01-08 03:38:56 UTC

limited liability is a massive gov intervention nobody cries about because it 'benefits' them, it's baked in

2020-01-08 03:39:29 UTC

the lowest price for the USER is zero, which also adds productivity to the society

2020-01-08 03:40:17 UTC

what education costs from operative standpoitn depends on what you are teaching and what outcomes you are looking for

2020-01-08 03:41:10 UTC

society wide, we already spend a ton on education, it' sjust done in a sloppy fashion. single payer fixes that issue, but then the education outcomes are still handled institutionally

2020-01-08 03:41:37 UTC

the fallacy is in assuming colleges need ot compete on 'price' versus education quality

2020-01-08 03:42:29 UTC

many of the fixes for education have this asssumption baked in that price competition in education will result in quality outcomes, but that's confusing the nature of education, which is a longer term investment that works similar to 'equity'

2020-01-08 03:42:35 UTC

not manufacturing

2020-01-08 03:42:54 UTC

the metaphor in their head is a factory that churns out manufactured 'graduates'

2020-01-08 03:42:56 UTC

I focus on teaching people to think and to be creative. A gift that comes naturally for young people, but gets numbed as you grow older. I believe that if someone has an idea that they pursue, they will learn more then sitting in a classroom, doing homework, and performing random experiments.

2020-01-08 03:43:35 UTC

im not a teacher, i have no idea on what methods are best, but the gov should finance whatever the student choice is

2020-01-08 03:43:46 UTC

something like a GI Bill for All to go along with medicare for all

2020-01-08 03:44:32 UTC

i dont think everyody has a natural gift fo creativity. some people are more stalwart, bean counters. we have all types of neurologies

2020-01-08 03:44:45 UTC

very different subject than fiscal policy however

2020-01-08 03:44:51 UTC

I believe that my plan would pull out government funding, work well for every bright student (rich or poor), and still be profitable.

2020-01-08 03:45:15 UTC

'profitable' should not be the goal

2020-01-08 03:45:26 UTC

low quality / high cost can give you profits

2020-01-08 03:45:29 UTC

still bad for society

2020-01-08 03:45:33 UTC

I also believe that everyone is bright in their own ways, and everyone is creative in their own way

2020-01-08 03:45:59 UTC

again, education is not about manfacturing a product that gets a good price, thats, student graduates are not in a spot market that the facility is selling

2020-01-08 03:46:05 UTC

Profitability isn’t a goal, it’s just a side benefit of my plan.

2020-01-08 03:47:00 UTC

The whole goal is to boost America through creative educations that encourages ideas and critical thinking

2020-01-08 03:47:38 UTC

not all education is creative. some is very rote to produce specific kinds of competency

2020-01-08 03:47:49 UTC

there is room for all of it with GIB4A

2020-01-08 03:47:59 UTC

The government does not need to fund a good education system that works for everyone.

2020-01-08 03:48:01 UTC

just as many vets use that GI bill at many different type of institutions

2020-01-08 03:48:10 UTC

yes it does, that's exactly what the gov needs to do

2020-01-08 03:48:27 UTC

it's the only institution that can or should. it is the instrument of the public

2020-01-08 03:48:40 UTC

literally exactly what the gov should be or do

2020-01-08 03:48:40 UTC

A good education is one where the student’s profitability increases

2020-01-08 03:48:54 UTC

again, sacrificing everything to 'profitability' is not the goal of education

2020-01-08 03:49:06 UTC

Even the thinnest sheet of paper has two sides

2020-01-08 03:49:20 UTC

No, I don’t mean that.

2020-01-08 03:50:29 UTC

whenever the government gets involved in funding anything the price increases

2020-01-08 03:50:38 UTC

higher education works, it's just expensive because an attempt to "business-ify" educatio was made
