You're cheap.
Yeah, I have no ulterior motive.
You're just paranoid.
It's a simple question.
Why. Do. You. Not. Care. Whether. Or. Not. Your. President. Lies. To. You.

Anyhow.
We won't get an answer.
assuming they are young, which is reasonable, imagine what they will be like as older adults
I still think the situation in Syria was mostly caused by the US and the lack of interest to let a Qatarian tube run along, which is what lead to the vilification of Assad.
I don“t think Russia had any interest in that war.
They had the positions on the ground anyway.
It was just a matter of the US installing their own proxy and failing at it.
I am still unsure how Trump fits in that pattern.
Toppling Assad was key to avoid the energy encirclement of WEstenr europe. it failed so various players had to accept reality and mke the deals with Russia, like Austria and the natgas deal where they blatantly threw shade at us
the us failed at regime change, too 'weak', to obama's credit in one way, but it definitely hurt our rep as a gangster to the euros
Ukraine and Georgia were part of that play as well
Then we saw the Oataris split with the Saudis around same time, 2014
Qatar throwing money at MB was basically part of the anti-assad move ad further sussed out the differentiation in the energy producers
It also matters to the energy USERS too, which is why France can chill because they went 'all in' on nuclear
intranational and intraregional geopolitics because it happens within in the US too. we have our own versions of 'proxy wars' here with voter manipulation, etc. the oil sellign states versus the manufacturing states that use energy, teh resistances to alternatives, etc
Hm, that's an interesting take.
I think most of the anti-US sentiment in EU is based precisely on that failed play that you spoke about.
Aside from other ideological issues.
Mainly commie-vs-capitalist-based.
Especially in Eastern Europe.
east versus west europe is harder for me to grasp because it often has cultural sensitivites that are alien to me, but i like what that romanian pm said about the capital flows
i keep linking that one because she sums it up well as a pure numbers guy, ive always know that and the elder econ types saw that coming early in the game
and as an American obsever, watching germany and greece clash during debt crisis was revealing of how germany sees itself in that mix. it has no desire to do what the US does to lead coalitions, self sacrifice
as the romanian EMP points out, the bureucratic 'magnanimity" is a cover for the capital flow
same thing that happened in greece. the situation was a vendor financing scheme for german industry. germany's trade surplus is basically a religion
Germany made the counter a moral finger pointing issue, and demonized the greeks as a people, ugly. Meanwhile, in a currency block/trade block operating that way, somebody's surplus is somebody's deficit, and greece can't devalue because they are in eurozone, which germany 'controls'
