Rich people are the majority of the investors

2020-02-12 18:42:14 UTC

not a single person has billions in cash like scrooge mcduck

2020-02-12 18:42:37 UTC

You think if said thing they invested wasnt making money via a circulated market they would invest

2020-02-12 18:43:03 UTC

Yeah I’m not sure you understand how saving and banks work

2020-02-12 18:43:23 UTC

He thinks the stock market is some multidimensional plane were money just exists

2020-02-12 18:43:48 UTC

They invest *to make money*

2020-02-12 18:44:01 UTC

the have to see something making money to invest

2020-02-12 18:44:09 UTC

This is like 5th grade economics lol

2020-02-12 18:44:37 UTC

Or at least believe it would grow in wealth

2020-02-12 18:47:55 UTC

clearly this is a kid who has never paid taxes or invested in his life.

2020-02-12 18:49:21 UTC

if I gave the bank $100 they can use that to loan our $900 to someone else. that's the 10% reserve requirement

2020-02-12 18:49:33 UTC

You know, as much as I hate to agree with @BarronVon, he’s right here. This is pretty basic stuff

2020-02-12 18:50:07 UTC

It’s not even opinion, it’s just about how banks work

2020-02-12 18:50:22 UTC

a billion in the bank means they can lend out 9 billion

2020-02-12 18:51:09 UTC

If everyone withdrew their money from the bank now, the entire thing would collapse

2020-02-12 18:51:14 UTC

The money only exists in numbers

2020-02-12 18:51:21 UTC

haha yea no kidding

2020-02-12 18:51:50 UTC

On that note, all countries are simply printing money which causes the currencies of money to raise and drop corresponding with one another

2020-02-12 18:51:59 UTC

in reality money is just dropping in value overall

2020-02-12 18:55:08 UTC

Isn’t that just the M0 money supply?

2020-02-12 18:59:14 UTC

Thats not what I thought it was.

2020-02-12 19:00:58 UTC

fiat currency is an issue. but honestly gold doesnt work either when a company like apple is valued at 3 trillion dollars. there isnt enough gold or the price of gold per ounce would be ridiculous. it wouldnt really make sense to use a commodity to measure value

2020-02-12 19:02:26 UTC

Also, the gold standard prevented the government from raising the money supply in response to crises, which is one of the factors that prolonged the Great Depression, according to some theories

2020-02-12 19:02:29 UTC

Anyways my point was you said the us did fine with high corporate taxes, the issue with this is these aren’t effective tax rates

2020-02-12 19:02:39 UTC

Effective tax rates were much more lower

2020-02-12 19:03:29 UTC

Nonetheless, corporate tax is shown to be harmful. I.e lower growth, lower investment, Lower employment. The overall incidence of this tax roughly lies on consumers and workers. @wuzamarine

2020-02-12 19:03:33 UTC

imagine if all the billionaires just left the US tomorrow. total collapse

2020-02-12 19:03:53 UTC

You got indoctrinated buddy

2020-02-12 19:03:53 UTC

M0 is the money supply @abby_ella

2020-02-12 19:05:33 UTC

M0 is part of the money supply

2020-02-12 19:06:35 UTC

It’s one of the measures

2020-02-12 19:06:37 UTC

M1 and M2 are also important

2020-02-12 19:07:05 UTC

It’s the most narrowest form, M0

2020-02-12 19:08:23 UTC

what about M3

2020-02-12 19:08:30 UTC

or MB

2020-02-12 19:08:58 UTC

Nobody cares about those

2020-02-12 19:09:18 UTC

Only nerds care about M3

2020-02-12 19:09:31 UTC

MB federal reserve bank credit? Odd... I think that matters.

2020-02-12 19:10:38 UTC

M3 is savings deposits, demand deposits, time deposits, and large time deposits

2020-02-12 19:11:10 UTC

Yeah, that one probably does matter lol

2020-02-12 19:11:27 UTC

M3 is the only one for large time deposits and institutional money market funds... probably the most important for markets tbh
