2020-03-09 14:05:42 UTC

I'm not even fully in the city and I'm gnawing at the bit

2020-03-09 14:05:54 UTC

Good combat systems to learn;

-Basic/advanced hand to hand: krav maga
Krav maga goes from basic hand to hand to advanced weapons use (ie: knives, long weapons, firearms, etc.) and covers everything from 3rd party protection to fighting underwater.

-Grappling/throws: BJJ
Brazilian jiu jitsu is utilised by both military and law enforcement around the world, wether theowing someone to the ground or *being* knocked to the ground, grappling is a good way to do it, just know not to take every single fight to the ground.

-knife fighting: Libre/Reaper system.
Developed by prisoners in south america, libre is a no-nonsense, down and dirty, kill-the-other-guy kind of system, it'll teach you how to deal damage to a big motherfucker with only a knife smaller than your pinkie finger. This system is essentially a "kill or be killed" type of thing.

Wether you plan on hunkering down by yourself or with a group, it's a good idea to keep in shape even after SHTF. Though space may not be present or available, what with all the raiders looking for some poor asshole to pillage, rape ot kill. Prison style exercises can definitely help you with that. Calisthenics and cardio in a small cramped room is made possible by prison style workouts.

2020-03-14 18:07:03 UTC

Its always best idea to be in your best shape

2020-03-14 18:07:06 UTC

Working off of your own body’s resistance is very effective.

2020-03-14 18:07:11 UTC

Physically

2020-03-15 17:02:32 UTC

2020-03-16 15:46:56 UTC

Well what do you want to do Che?

2020-03-16 15:47:09 UTC

Like calisthenics or weights?

2020-03-16 15:47:49 UTC

I just wanted to be generally in good shape.

2020-03-16 15:48:27 UTC

Like be able to walk long distances or lift somewhat heavy objects.

2020-03-16 15:49:19 UTC

walking long distances is mostly mind

2020-03-16 15:49:33 UTC

but all you need to do for that is go for long walks or hikes

2020-03-16 15:49:53 UTC

Well you can get in good shape by doing callisthenic. I think someone pinned a message here on all the how to's

2020-03-16 15:50:15 UTC

Lifting heavy objects is strength training so you'll need weights for that

2020-03-16 15:50:31 UTC

Colorado gang, hikes are in my *blood* I can do that.

2020-03-16 15:50:43 UTC

And the long distance walking/running is basically endurance training

2020-03-16 15:50:57 UTC

I have a rec center nearby with a gym.

2020-03-16 15:51:08 UTC

Perfect

2020-03-16 15:51:22 UTC

Is there a workout plan I can adhere to?

2020-03-16 15:51:29 UTC

Check out the pinned messages

2020-03-16 15:51:41 UTC

There's some good workout plans there

2020-03-16 15:52:20 UTC

If you're starting out, I would recommend you to maybe tryout C25K for running

2020-03-16 15:52:28 UTC

Oooo and what to eat like diets too. Thanks.

2020-03-16 15:52:50 UTC

This helps a lot. I become a better person than I was before.

2020-03-16 15:53:00 UTC

Yea there's some stuff there about diets

2020-03-16 15:53:10 UTC

don’t do weight loss diets for gaining muscle
