This is because he thought that language is used to describe state of affairs in the actual world, it does not describe anything beyond the world's state of affairs.

@Vlad I only remember his first way and the fifth way, first is argument from motion and fifth way is telelogical argument. The others are irrelevant, first way is used by Edward Feser since it's the most prominent out of all the five ways.
