The Mercator projection makes land look larger the closer to the top and bottom of the map it is

maps aren't misleading if you pay attention to size and country of origin of the map

Yeah India is a fucking huge continent

But Africa is fucking huge

Even withotu the mercator projection

maps are just easier to read the way they're designed

It's the problem that you can't fit a globe into a flat square map perfectly
