it's quite valuable if you really understand what's going on, the 2008 situation was caused by a fairly esoteric thing, a break down in the EuroDollar

"wall street" and "chicago" for the comex what it's really about is risk management and distribution

Stocks are just for people who allready have money to make more moneuy

if you look at history of futures exchanges in particular, it's a tremendous benefit for the producers so they can focus more on their business and not the 'price' aspect of their commodities, etc
