On my first deployment in 05, we were the first logistics battalion in the Army to spin up our own organic convoy security platoon instead of relying on the attached combat arms or MP's to provide the security
Our genius CO decided that since we all had M16A2's, the convoy bois would need more maneuverable M4's, but since we weren't slated for them, he just had my shop order everything we needed to convert the A2's
Enough for 50 rifles
Soooo...we ordered the stuff, it came in
And then TACOM came down on us like a ton of bricks
So we deployed with all these parts, and long story short, a lot of them came back hidden in TV's and other places 😂

Yes. It's a mismatched piece of crap with a refinished, 7.63 lower and a 9mm upper, so it has no collector value
Was hoping to maybe some day get a 9mm detachable mag frame off Sarco or Numrich and then go nuts customizing it

The older I've gotten the less I care about what people do to historical guns. The ones that actually care and have nice historical pieces are holding onto them and not modifying them. The pieces that are basically just shooter grade, I really don't give a flying fuck if you bubba the shit out of them

It's a really good deal for a really really superb rifle
15 hundo, and you get the finest precision stainless barrel wrapped with the absolute peak in composite fiber technology
plus the savage action is really solid with excellent triggers
Might have to pick up a precision at some point
