@Noey are you for the minimum wage at all?

2020-03-09 05:51:38 UTC

I think so, but I dont agree with making minimum wage a living wage

2020-03-09 05:52:28 UTC

so if you're for a minimum wage then you should have an idea of how it should be set

2020-03-09 05:52:36 UTC

because it's not even pinned to inflation

2020-03-09 05:53:31 UTC

in other words it used to be a living wage but the value has eroded

2020-03-09 05:53:40 UTC

and now it is a below-poverty wage

2020-03-09 06:01:47 UTC

i think my issue with 15 dollars being a living wage would give people less of an incentive to compete for those higher paying jobs. What would stop someone from being a trash collector than taking some easy job as a mcdonalds employee doing some stupid easy job

2020-03-09 06:02:00 UTC

sorry for the late response im in an r6 match

2020-03-09 06:05:08 UTC

2020-03-09 06:06:18 UTC

Y’all can’t voice chat?

2020-03-09 06:06:21 UTC

Gayyyyyy

2020-03-09 06:06:23 UTC

No

2020-03-09 06:06:48 UTC

my issue with abolishing slavery is it would give people less incentive to pick my cotton

2020-03-09 06:07:17 UTC

if you can't pay people enough to live maybe you shouldn't be in business

2020-03-09 06:07:36 UTC

because you're in the business of exploitation rather than profit and growth

2020-03-09 06:08:18 UTC

Or maybe people were lazy and had the money and expenses to pay people to harvest crops and then a machine was made and people had no use of using slaves

2020-03-09 06:08:44 UTC

so that analogy went right the fuck over your head

2020-03-09 06:09:11 UTC

Everything goes over my fucking head

2020-03-09 06:09:29 UTC

oh so you're short too gross

2020-03-09 06:09:41 UTC

Nah

2020-03-09 06:09:45 UTC

Im kidding

2020-03-09 06:09:49 UTC

Im tired

2020-03-09 06:09:58 UTC

Wanted to say random shit

2020-03-09 06:09:58 UTC

are you saying businesses that pay their employees minimum wage shouldnt be a business if they cant pay their employees 15 dollars an hour?

2020-03-09 06:10:01 UTC

if there's one thing we don't need it is more manlets

2020-03-09 06:11:05 UTC

no I'm saying the idea of a living wage is sound and I'm giving you an example

2020-03-09 06:11:09 UTC

I think 15 is probably too much

2020-03-09 06:11:31 UTC

you can strike a balance

2020-03-09 06:11:41 UTC

without fucking over the lower class completely

2020-03-09 06:12:04 UTC

There's alot of variables to a wage of an employee

2020-03-09 06:12:21 UTC

I couldnt list them all

2020-03-09 06:14:05 UTC

"if you can't pay people enough to live maybe you shouldn't be in business"
but you said if you cant pay your employees a livable wage you shouldnt be a business.
there are a lot of for example family owned bakers that have a few employees and make enough to pay the owner's bills and the paychecks of its employees. If 15 dollars was implemented to be a minimum wage what would stop the businesses from letting go half their employees to pay the livable wage.

2020-03-09 06:14:43 UTC

Wouldnt this just leave some Americans without jobs?

2020-03-09 06:15:29 UTC

well it's a complex issue people make the mistake of thinking this is basic economics when it's not

2020-03-09 06:15:48 UTC

Seattle has $15 minimum wage so just look at them for example

2020-03-09 06:16:18 UTC

I think more likely is a reduction in hours and understaffing

2020-03-09 06:17:02 UTC

and if it's a family business you have more kids to slave away for free obviously

2020-03-09 06:17:55 UTC

but yeah even with a mom and pop your wages are a part of your expenses, not the whole pie
