@daddy vladdy i'm pretty new to NV. if you wanna link me some examples of exactly what you mean, i'd appreciate it. it'll help me decide better before i actually buy anything expensive

2020-04-03 19:18:07 UTC

sure i can send some links

2020-04-03 19:18:28 UTC

garand daddy has good vids on it too

2020-04-03 19:18:30 UTC

also, if you've got instagram, 9minded and licentia_arms are both great companies that can answer any questions you have

2020-04-03 19:18:44 UTC

ya, i've gotten most of my info from garand thumb.

2020-04-03 19:19:00 UTC

i don't have insta, but i could get into it

2020-04-03 19:19:01 UTC

dtnvgs

2020-04-03 19:19:24 UTC

solid 15s, but they're GP

2020-04-03 19:19:30 UTC

follow boogaloo doge on insta if you have it

2020-04-03 19:19:33 UTC

GP?

2020-04-03 19:19:49 UTC

oh, gotcha

2020-04-03 19:19:57 UTC

it's right there in the title...

2020-04-03 19:20:13 UTC

buying from instagram guys is nice as well, because you'll be able to move around pricing depending on what tunes you want, most stores like tnvc, l3, etc don't really offer that

2020-04-03 19:21:03 UTC

rnvgs are based off the anvis design iirc, so you lose telescoping tubes in exchange for them being more durable

2020-04-03 19:21:45 UTC

i saw someone selling a pvs 14 kit on ebay for 3000. Bump helmet mount and gen 3 pvs 14 green phospher

2020-04-03 19:22:07 UTC

lol that person is out of their mind

2020-04-03 19:22:56 UTC

pvs14 mounts are like $150 for the absolute gucciest, and a gen 3 GP 14 shouldn't run you over about $1800

2020-04-03 19:23:05 UTC

probably could find one for $1600 used lel

2020-04-03 19:23:13 UTC

ty for all these links. signed up for insta as well to follow some of the guys you were all talkin about

2020-04-03 19:23:51 UTC

also follow @defnot4sale for best deals

2020-04-03 19:24:01 UTC

@daddy vladdy he does say they are all new

2020-04-03 19:24:14 UTC

still super expensive

2020-04-03 19:24:24 UTC

like

2020-04-03 19:24:55 UTC

licentia was selling WP filmless 14s with like 2k minimum fom for $2350 last time i checked

2020-04-03 19:25:25 UTC

if i'm getting bnvg, do i care if they're dtnvg? i've been thinking about what sorts of situations those would make sense and can't come up with many

2020-04-03 19:26:09 UTC

well, they're just a nice set of nods for relatively cheap for what you're getting

2020-04-03 19:26:41 UTC

as far as articulating tubes, they're nice for doing vehicle work or in the woods where flipups can get caught on doors, branches, etc

2020-04-03 19:27:10 UTC

i've seen a lot of guys crack their anvis flipups because they hit them on door frames and stuff

2020-04-03 19:27:36 UTC

obviously, that's not really a concern with a flipup like the rnvg, because those have an aluminum body

2020-04-03 19:27:51 UTC

ahh. so you just articulate them up so they're not as high and banging on things you don't think about

2020-04-03 19:27:54 UTC

it's still kind of annoying to have to reset your breakaway every time you bump your head on something tho

2020-04-03 19:28:17 UTC

yeah, basically they still sit below the top of your helmet, which is nice to have

2020-04-03 19:28:22 UTC

vlad whats your job?

2020-04-03 19:28:38 UTC

sorry, one last acronym explanation please? what is "fom"?

2020-04-03 19:28:41 UTC

if i remember correctly you said youre not military

2020-04-03 19:28:41 UTC

student and chef

2020-04-03 19:29:08 UTC

in case it's not obv, i'm also not military. but i do like cool stuff, and i do hunt regularly

2020-04-03 19:29:09 UTC

fom is figure of merit, basically how much light is picked up by your nods
