i was just thinking the 51 degree fov would be nifty. ATN has pvs15 googles that are not terribly expensive though
avoid atn
training tho. we can get nv from the govt
i've heard that before
Honestly I love WP nods but they're super fucking cumbersome
and 51 degree is nice, but imo it's not a big enough change for the compromise in tubes
dtnvgs with filmless WP gen 3 will run you around the same price, with a much higher FOM
i take it for pvs15 binos, you're talking about US Night Vision as a brand?
the L3 15s are the best in terms of toobs and housing
i don't think i've ever ran US night vision branded stuff
@daddy vladdy i'm pretty new to NV. if you wanna link me some examples of exactly what you mean, i'd appreciate it. it'll help me decide better before i actually buy anything expensive
sure i can send some links
garand daddy has good vids on it too
also, if you've got instagram, 9minded and licentia_arms are both great companies that can answer any questions you have
ya, i've gotten most of my info from garand thumb.
i don't have insta, but i could get into it
dtnvgs
solid 15s, but they're GP
GP?
oh, gotcha
it's right there in the title...
buying from instagram guys is nice as well, because you'll be able to move around pricing depending on what tunes you want, most stores like tnvc, l3, etc don't really offer that
rnvgs are based off the anvis design iirc, so you lose telescoping tubes in exchange for them being more durable
i saw someone selling a pvs 14 kit on ebay for 3000. Bump helmet mount and gen 3 pvs 14 green phospher
lol that person is out of their mind
pvs14 mounts are like $150 for the absolute gucciest, and a gen 3 GP 14 shouldn't run you over about $1800
probably could find one for $1600 used lel
ty for all these links. signed up for insta as well to follow some of the guys you were all talkin about
also follow @defnot4sale for best deals
@daddy vladdy he does say they are all new
still super expensive
like
licentia was selling WP filmless 14s with like 2k minimum fom for $2350 last time i checked
if i'm getting bnvg, do i care if they're dtnvg? i've been thinking about what sorts of situations those would make sense and can't come up with many
well, they're just a nice set of nods for relatively cheap for what you're getting
as far as articulating tubes, they're nice for doing vehicle work or in the woods where flipups can get caught on doors, branches, etc
i've seen a lot of guys crack their anvis flipups because they hit them on door frames and stuff
