PSA ARs work quite well

2020-04-13 21:12:44 UTC

Nah

2020-04-13 21:12:47 UTC

ya

2020-04-13 21:12:50 UTC

It varies based off of who reviews them

2020-04-13 21:12:56 UTC

I don’t wanna take the chance

2020-04-13 21:13:05 UTC

what chance? they're built to milspec

2020-04-13 21:13:11 UTC

@John Cavil yes that is a thermal

2020-04-13 21:13:17 UTC

That means cheapest possible option

2020-04-13 21:13:27 UTC

Milspec is just garbage that works

2020-04-13 21:13:31 UTC

if they're built to milspec, they're gonna work

2020-04-13 21:13:41 UTC

you said it yourself: "that works"

2020-04-13 21:13:46 UTC

Not always though

2020-04-13 21:13:48 UTC

Armasight zeus 640

2020-04-13 21:14:02 UTC

There’s a difference between working, and working reliably

2020-04-13 21:14:04 UTC

don't need gucci ARs for reliability, and most of the lowers are milled by the same limited set of mfgs anyway

2020-04-13 21:14:18 UTC

The uppers are whah matter yeah

2020-04-13 21:14:31 UTC

Alright I've got list of ars I found online. 1. S&W M&P 15/ 2. Diamondback DB-15/ 3. DPMS Oracle/ 4. Rock river lar-15/ 5. Adam's arms agency/ 6. Ruger ar-556/ 7. PSA ar/ 8. Bushmaster XM-15

2020-04-13 21:14:32 UTC

But yeah PSA isn’t reliable

2020-04-13 21:14:44 UTC

what, a gas tube and gas block?

2020-04-13 21:15:02 UTC

the mfg science behind it isn't hard

2020-04-13 21:15:28 UTC

I feel as though I’ve opened Pandora’s box with my question

2020-04-13 21:16:19 UTC

Bro PSA is fine, you buy gucci and less money for optics and ammo

2020-04-13 21:16:32 UTC

guns are figured out, @Poppa Sherman ; buy cheap and spend on optics, ammo, and training

2020-04-13 21:20:35 UTC

as long as you avoid the freedom series

2020-04-13 21:20:47 UTC

psa can be very reliable

2020-04-13 21:20:50 UTC

What kind of optic then? I’m thinking a Triji acog

2020-04-13 21:20:54 UTC

best budget AR imo

2020-04-13 21:21:44 UTC

poor tolerances
out of spec parts
undergassing
over gassing
chamber burrs
failure to go into battery
poor barrel life
poor accuracy
poor staking
bent gas tubes
canted gas blocks
chinesium barrel nuts
terrible triggers
short spring lifespans
cheap extractors causing fte
^list of most common problems with cheap ARs, pretty much every AR under bcm quality will have at least a couple of these problems

2020-04-13 21:21:56 UTC

psa has the most fixable, which is poor staking

2020-04-13 21:22:06 UTC

and their premium series is pretty gucci

2020-04-13 21:22:34 UTC

FN barrel and gas system on an aero upper with a geiselle rail for like $575

2020-04-13 21:23:17 UTC

also, their $50 bcgs are toolcraft, which are very reliable carriers

2020-04-13 21:23:52 UTC

psa, aero, and bcm are the only budget brands worth considering for ARs

2020-04-13 21:24:10 UTC

as far as optics

2020-04-13 21:24:19 UTC

there's nothing wrong with the acog but it's outdated

2020-04-13 21:24:33 UTC

lpvo or eotech is your best bet

2020-04-13 21:25:24 UTC

Swampfox is good

2020-04-13 21:26:14 UTC

my friend has a freedom series that he's "fixed up" with a better gas system and better staking, it was unironically just as reliable over about 2k rounds as my friends brand new urgi

2020-04-13 21:26:35 UTC

albeit at like 4 moa because freedom series barrel

2020-04-13 21:26:37 UTC

Like a Eotech with a magnifier?
