So what do you guys think about the good and bad sides with the welfare state?

welfare should be highly monitored and restricted to those who are in actual need. also no cash should be provided directly. Food stamps and the like and rent cheques (within a reasonable costing assessment) should however be taken care of.

Not sure how it is in the US but in the UK, I think that there should be a good transition between going from welfare to work

Many people on welfare refuse to work because they're scared that they will struggle to carry on as the welfare will get pulled straight away

If you make the transition between welfare and jobs more clean, this fear will be less and less

i'm not sure its being scared for the welfare scammers

the legit people yes should be taken care of

hence the need for more monitoring/enforcement/restrictions
