how do you even make a selective fire revolver

2018-07-16 22:24:43 UTC

i don't think the cylinder would turn fast enough lol

2018-07-16 22:24:54 UTC

You don't, is how

2018-07-16 22:25:03 UTC

Either manually operated or FA only

2018-07-16 22:25:15 UTC

and the latter only for the big boys

2018-07-16 22:25:20 UTC

aircraft cannons and such

2018-07-16 22:26:14 UTC

Revolvers can shoot fast, bruh

2018-07-16 22:27:50 UTC

that's a lot of dakka

2018-07-16 22:28:05 UTC

It is a very big revolver

2018-07-16 22:28:24 UTC

And it is a revolver because of the high fire rate

2018-07-16 22:28:38 UTC

Yeah, but that's externally powered

2018-07-16 22:28:57 UTC

idk if you'd be able to make a handheld one function fast enough though

2018-07-16 22:28:58 UTC

There isn't a guy sitting there working a very big trigger to turn the cylinder

2018-07-16 22:29:00 UTC

At that caliber it would be too heavy to make it a gatling gun, so instead it is a gatling-esque revolver with just one barrel

2018-07-16 22:29:14 UTC

Literally what I was saying

2018-07-16 22:29:41 UTC

@Tohob Au contrail mein Schatz. Soviet union actually made a full-auto revolver once

2018-07-16 22:29:56 UTC

huh, that's pretty wild

2018-07-16 22:30:01 UTC

It's just soviet gun prototypes are not widely known to the world

2018-07-16 22:30:25 UTC

A true handheld full-auto revolver that was fed from a belt!

2018-07-16 22:31:03 UTC

Why tho

2018-07-16 22:31:11 UTC

operated by gasses and in a clever twist ejected empty shells with a gas too!

2018-07-16 22:31:22 UTC

Because an inventor could

2018-07-16 22:31:26 UTC

No other reason

2018-07-16 22:37:51 UTC

Oh, forgot to mention why it makes sense

2018-07-16 22:38:19 UTC

Gatling guns and full-auto revolvers exist to have an insanely fast fire rate

2018-07-16 22:39:27 UTC

You see, if you will use the usual rocking-back-and-forth mechanism to feed at 2000RPM speed, you will start stripping your rounds from bullets or seating the bullet deeper into the round as it is being jerked suddenly to either side

2018-07-16 22:40:03 UTC

handheld gatling gun when?

2018-07-16 22:40:16 UTC

In a gatling/revlover, the round is inserted into the chamber gradually while the cylinder rotates, thus reducing the lateral speed of loading

2018-07-16 22:40:54 UTC

So now you can use the very conventional ammo for your crazy fire rate gun thingy

2018-07-16 22:41:16 UTC

@missdanger XM556 Microgun

2018-07-16 22:41:24 UTC

P90 sized gatling gun

2018-07-16 22:41:42 UTC

I am trying to find the museum photo of russian crazy revolver prototype

2018-07-16 22:42:03 UTC

And I suppose the M134 can technically be handheld

2018-07-16 22:42:44 UTC

You aint hitting the ground if you fire that straight down like that but you know

2018-07-16 22:44:07 UTC

So this chat is strictly firearms or also related topics?

2018-07-16 22:45:25 UTC

Look at the description

2018-07-16 22:48:27 UTC

Weekendgunnit is like 40% firearms

2018-07-16 23:02:46 UTC

The closest thing to a handheld gatling you can get
