this guy was an artillery expert and was mortally wounded, flooded the ammo hold on his part of the ship and essentially saved everyone on the ship

I dont know, this was duign the preriod when individual heroic acts were difficult to point out.
Like the guy who won the victorias cross. Guy destroyed a number of tanks, and was basically deaf by the end of it.
yeah i mean when the guys dead body had to be taken out of the ship that survived some obvious things can be found out
like that the ammo was flooded and he was the only guy in the position to be able to flood in this case
not to mention he died there
but yeah WW1 was a clusterfuck for that
