I know, I've seen it. But his wonky gun breaks my suspension of disbelief

Pretty good as far as anime goes

you dont dare to question the logic of anime

Trap pistol grip panels

2018-08-28 08:28:21 UTC

How can someone do that to a poor 1911, Browning dindu nuffin

2018-08-28 08:38:20 UTC

Wait, did you assume my handgun?!?

its really not all that hard to imagine a handgun where the hammer drops to the bottom cilinder rather than the top cilinder. i dont know why youd make a gun like that (probably something to do with the plot) but to say its nonsensicle is a bit of a stretch.

2018-08-28 14:29:53 UTC

Look up Mateba revolvers

2018-08-28 14:31:16 UTC

The Chiappa Rhino is another model that fires from the bottom cylinder. The reason it's not more common is that the mechanism tends to be considerably more complex. A revolver isn't as simple as it seems from the outside.

2018-08-28 14:39:42 UTC

looking up those guns it seems to be a feature rather than a bug

2018-08-28 15:16:51 UTC

Yeah I know about the Mateba 6 Unica, but that has it's hammer strike the bottom cylinder, not the top one like in Trigun

2018-08-28 15:17:57 UTC

It makes sense from a recoil perspective to fire closer in line with the hand

2018-08-28 15:27:25 UTC

similar concept, barrel as close to possible in line with hand

MTR 8, by the way

2018-08-28 15:27:52 UTC

also Mateba

2018-08-28 15:29:24 UTC

this is fine, too

I don't think that artist understands firearms

2018-08-28 18:06:14 UTC

You think?

2018-08-28 18:17:41 UTC

If that gun used Trounds it might actually be a workable design. Dardick Tround guns had both a magazine and revolving cylinder of sorts

The text implies that that it is unrelated to any actual firearms design in reality

2018-08-28 19:36:12 UTC

Huh, that is a nifty concept, I remember seeing a gun in Ergo Proxy that is mostly a handle, that has the capacity & fire rate of a semi-auto pistol

I wondered if there is a to make a mechanism that compact that would allow it to work, something like a Luger:

2018-08-28 19:40:05 UTC

It could work as a simple blowback if you use a heavy spring

2018-08-28 19:43:29 UTC

A revolver concept is another maybe with the images I see above images above, though of course it is one thing for something to work in concept & another in action.

2018-08-28 20:22:13 UTC

hmm... you'd sacrifice much of what is normally magazine capacity , you're not getting more than a few rounds in there, so a revolver isn't an awful idea

2018-08-28 20:23:39 UTC

oh

2018-08-28 20:23:45 UTC

I thought you meant a regular revolver

2018-08-28 20:54:41 UTC

Idea #1: gyrojet with electrical primer. These could more or less be fired straight out of a magazine and into a very short barrel. All you'd have to squeeze into the grip still is battery and it could fire as quickly as the capacitor can charge

2018-08-28 20:58:04 UTC

Idea #2: with conventional cartridges, you can use a setup similar to the Dardick handgun above but without "Trounds". Simply make make it belt-fed, just a short belt. And just go from there, regular revolver with no/minimal barrel

2018-08-28 20:58:50 UTC

Can do. Just not legally.

2018-08-28 20:58:59 UTC

Well, I can't, anyways.
