My local shop is selling a .500 S&W and I'm tempted

I wouldn't after firing one round of .500 S&W most people either never shoot it again or return the revolver.

Also for the price you could buy a nice .44 magnum or .357 magnum plus have money left over to buy plenty of ammo or another gun as well.

Personally I think it's more a coffee table gun than anything else.

If i buy another revolver outside of the saa repro and a black powder revolver i plan on buying, i'll probably go with ruger

I am serious, a lot of FFLs I talked to over the years told me about traded in S&W .44s that had 2 shots in the (1 factory and 1 range)

I kind of want a governor because it can shoot .45ACP as well as "Bubba stupid" but

@Khanclansith people were retarded with the .44 magnum as you can shoot .44 special out of it and work you're way up to the magnum, same as with .38 special/.357 mag. The problem with .500 magnum is there is no real "lighter" cartridge option. Sure they make .500 special but that sucker is still a heavy projectile (350 grain), going 1000ish fps and hitting with a 1000 ft-lbs of energy so still quite the hand cannon round.

.45 winmag is almost an intermediate cartridge
