Or if you dont like being told what you will like

2018-10-11 13:21:41 UTC

you wont like anything because you have personal application and are not a npc

2018-10-11 13:23:45 UTC

why is the goblin thing so popular?

2018-10-11 13:23:51 UTC

just the immense amounts of rape?

2018-10-11 13:24:46 UTC

The light novel was popular

2018-10-11 13:24:47 UTC

wasnt it a D&D joke?

2018-10-11 13:24:50 UTC

In turn spawned a manga

2018-10-11 13:24:56 UTC

you mean overlord?

2018-10-11 13:25:00 UTC

Manga was popular. That spawned a anime.

2018-10-11 13:25:05 UTC

Happens alot.

2018-10-11 13:25:07 UTC

I am not much for isukai cause...

2018-10-11 13:25:09 UTC

swordart

2018-10-11 13:25:10 UTC

ugh

2018-10-11 13:25:22 UTC

just saying it makes me have acid refux

2018-10-11 13:25:28 UTC

Since now the people watching Goblin Slayer were either already fans of the LN and the manga

2018-10-11 13:25:35 UTC

Call it wish fufilment

2018-10-11 13:25:44 UTC

Goblin slayers just dark fantasy

2018-10-11 13:35:23 UTC

atleast overlord was funny

2018-10-11 13:35:34 UTC

in a "one punch man" sort of way

2018-10-11 13:36:19 UTC

ANd Goblin slayer isnt an isekai

2018-10-11 13:36:24 UTC

the whole "trapped in another world" anime genre feels overdone now. but thats what oversaturation of the market gets you.

2018-10-11 13:36:26 UTC

Theres pleanty of those already

2018-10-11 13:36:28 UTC

But it felt like it.

2018-10-11 13:36:41 UTC

I mean to be honest its probably just another form of wish fufulment.

2018-10-11 13:36:50 UTC

"That time I got reincarnated as a slime" will continue the comedic isukai trend

2018-10-11 13:36:57 UTC

I bet alot of people in japan wish they were just taken to another realm

2018-10-11 13:38:14 UTC

I watched inuyasha when i was a kid

2018-10-11 13:38:36 UTC

Thats the only "trapped in another world" cartoon ive seen

2018-10-11 13:43:47 UTC

It was interesting to be honest.

2018-10-11 13:43:59 UTC

probably the first time I got used to a female lead.

2018-10-11 13:45:47 UTC

I think the first one I saw was El hazard.

2018-10-11 13:45:55 UTC

but that predates the inuyasha cartoon.

2018-10-11 13:45:59 UTC

but not the manga I think

2018-10-11 13:46:17 UTC

japan is so strange but cool. but still confusing

2018-10-11 13:50:07 UTC

A lot of people all over the world wish they were taken to another world, it's a really, really common fantasy. In the West you have stuff like Narnia and Harry Potter that spring to mind.

2018-10-11 13:53:40 UTC

or never ending story if you are old like me

2018-10-11 13:53:42 UTC

so it is possible to write good isekai stories that aren't just self-insertion wish-fulfilment, but the trend especially in Japan is definitely leaning towards milktoast protagonist people can relate to and insert as

2018-10-11 13:53:45 UTC

Why does 30 feel old now?

2018-10-11 13:53:50 UTC

oh yeah, neverending story too

2018-10-11 13:55:29 UTC

while I haven't watched Neverending story in probably two decades, I think that's got a pretty bland and uninteresting protagonist as well

2018-10-11 13:55:42 UTC

the world was interesting,
