Western Society developed where it did, I would challenge, not as a result of race, but as a result of trade.
>There will come a point where our quality of life will be so great that we won't even need money, but again, this is way into the future.
If there is no money, there will be no freedom
I'm inclined to agree.
if you are implying a world without freedom, it is possible
If we fall to a one world government
Are the two really so intrinsically linked?
I just don't see it lasting very long
there would be no competition.
Either that, or we'd fall to intense corporatism, and that's pretty scary, too.
(not that we don't already have that)
Nations should be able to compete.
Hell, I think the states in the US should be more in competition with one another
That's how the best ideas come forward.
all hail the free market
On a city level, on a state level, on a global level, that's where the way forward exists.
I know it's a bit of a utopian idea, but what do we do as the quality of life rises to the point where we don't even have to work in a lot of ways? Many jobs are falling into automation, and it's only going to get worse, to the point where even *now* we're whispering about UBI.
competition is essential. It's simple darwinism
I said in this chat before about some talk about California. Let them do whatever they want and let bad ideas fail
And the federal government should exist to protect the people, but not the individual state.
If the state is going to fail, it needs to be able to.
The perfect human society is one in which natural selection continues to refine the human race
UBI might be the more realistic 'middleground' between communism and what we have now, I would agree. Don't get me wrong, I think the free market solves a lot of problems, and was only talking about where things could go into the far future.
and to Jaden's point, even if we automate, unless we achieve singularity, people will still have jobs.
And new jobs will come with new technologies, yeah.
Or perhaps one in which humans are most capable of adapting to their surroundings
In some socialist society how are people supposed to adapt if their existence is supported solely by the government?
I just want IQ cleansing
for a gay universe
just make everyone watch R&M
IQ problem = solved
Kisetsu ga Kawaru
to be honest, I never truly got that show, it looks stupid; along with Steven Universe and Adventure Time
adventure time is made of love
Adventure Time is actually kinda dark when you look at it.
and darkness
the lich
I miss the old days of cartoons, though.
First run Futurama. the original 'Cartoon Cartoons'...
