They'll hound people on twitter for watching anime on pirate streaming sites despite that being how they started
well, the art and animation is one part of it, i would say there is more that goes into it than just that
broadly speaking
Yeah, there's more to it than that for sure. There's a lot of anime with unique art styles that most wouldn't think of when they think of as anime, but it's still anime
also i've got an interesting question that's strangely on-topic
is panty and stocking with garterbelt anime
Yes
Yes, duh
yea
why
It's Japanese animation
Is Avatar and Legend of Kora anime
And it follows in that tradition as well
No.
actually most of it was animated in the us wasn't it ?
And Steven Universe is animated in Korea, but it's not Korean
The lines are a bit blurred sometimes I’d say
Also the French make good stuff
Wakfu is a great not-quite-anime
Or as my friend calls it “bread anime”
i mean, P&S is as inspired by american animation and culture as avatar is by japanese animation and culture
I’m watching the newest season
I’ll only watch in subs though cause the French voice acting is better for some of the characters
Like Nox
He sounds better in French
More evil crazy broken guy
if it isn't made for the japanese market, it isn't anime
simple
English one is generic villain af
let people choose their community. There's people that only like American Cartoons
let them
I like Anime and French Animation mostly
American hasn’t impressed me lately
sure, just don't call everything "Anime"
It's totally OK for people who only like one type of animation to just like that one type. I don't think anyone is saying otherwise.
But saying this Crunchyroll thing is anime just isn't true.
I don’t really
Personally, I don't treat the term "anime" as a sacred cow since it is a term used outside of Japan to distinguish it from other animation, whereas in Japan it is used for all animation. But I will up hold as technical term to distinguish anime as a spicific subset of cartoons made by the Japanese (disregarding that they sometimes cheaply outsourced labour) usually for the Japanese primarily (even if it might not be exclusively). *I type slow*
