Reminds me.
Learning how the system works and then figuring out how to break it for their personal gain.

So it's not about telling a compelling story, it's about you, the reader, not the story as told?
Im seeing alot of manga where the main character is some sort of loser.
Konosuba?
Which is also a really great isekai.
although isekai specifically I think is one way to tell a frontier story without having to go back in time
Not having a problem there. But its funny how they manage to use their expereinces as a loser to solve their problems
generally that's the draw of isekai
Then again, I havent been reading good horror recently.
Dont anyone say Ito.
Everyone knows him
>the world sucks and people want to be in a different one for 25 minutes
That's absolutely fine, I fucking love Superhot and the universe makes no goddamn sense, but god DAMN does it satisfy my 25 minute itch
most isekai leans into that super hard
and it's what made SAO
only horror show of any medium I've seen is Another
SAO is pure wish fulfillment
SAO is just pure middle school nerd boy wish fulfillment
cwow if cowboy bebop is your favorate anime i think youd like trigun, its got some anime tropes but its still very westernized, its kinda like somewhere between normal anime and bebop
and it's the most popular isekai
SAO is bait and switch garbage
If you want to be a romance advertise as one
the author literally wrote a bunch of female characters and had no idea what to do with them
so he made them all fall in love with kirito
that is literally what happened
brilliant
A+
to be fair
the writer was 16
That explains so much
Man, the only isekai I really really like is Battle Girls: Time Paradox, & that was released before the isekai-megadon herald SAO.
also the GGO spinoff was actually decent
@Arch-Fiend that's fucking scary,. since I never mentioned Cowboy nor Bebop, but yes, Trigun hits at least my top 10 due to Westernized it is, but I do suspect in hindsight a lot of that is due to how Experimental it isd
kirito never showed up
seriously tho, how the fuck did you know cowboy beeepboop was one of my favorite anime?
he got a silhouette in one scene when people were talking about him and that was all of his screen time
@Crow did you see the movie? it was good though not as dark as the series
you literally told us it was cwow
That was me.
I blame the KGB
