she's doing CMs, voice acting, manga, merch, etc
I mean, how could they help? In this case, I see it no different from fansubbing in the 00s or before. Barring the company bitching at the subbers (which they did apparently) then I wouldn't really think the company should be obligated out of anything besides a bunch of "thank you's" etc

True, I guess, in that it's "anime grils" and a lot of the anime studios, LN publishers, VN developers, etc are all about $$$ by way of otaku pandering. Though you don't really see outright shitting on fans there
it's just the basic "you shouldn't forget where you started and who got you there"
