I don’t think people understand the significance of shifting from Asia to Latin America for our manufacturing needs

If we have everything we need either in our country or in the ones directly on our borders (Canada and Mexico), we don’t need the rest of the world and can actually pursue an isolationist foreign policy

i would have no trouble with canada or europe getting more industry. since those countries actually have workers rights,anti pollution laws and well educated population, and high quality controll. all the third world countries lack all of that, they are even worse than china in those regards

Eastern europan hevy industry has been gutted post communism, and not because it was not quality enough, no that was not the problem. the problem was that all heavy industry in asia was much cheaper even if it had worse quality
