the armor and weapons bug me
tired of all the high fantasy stuff
realistic armor is not that hard to do
i can appreciate realism and absolute ridiculousness equally
except when someone pulls out a warhammer that clearly weighs as much as a cart full of realistically-proportioned warhammers
unless it is clear that they are intended to be strong enough to pick up your house and beat you to death with it
Warhammer?
no, warhammer
armor is a far bigger issue
like, lets say via magic bullshit you can somehow wield a sword the size of a bus, that will still kill someone when you hit it
but armor does not give you that logical leeway
bad armor will restrict your movement or be generally unprotective
thus defeating the purpose
well the armor in the image posted earlier didn't seem egregious in either of those ways, it's just got lava in it for some reason
When it comes to weapons and armor you can't have huge weapons in regular armor.... if you're going to claim that it's "power armor" you need to make it bulky enough to house the mechanisms to enhance strength by X amount
You guys make me feel totally robbed... Getting commission art of my character from my friends....
the chestpiece goes further down the body then it should
and the spikes on the shoulders are a joke
If it helps you feel better the Warhammer Tiger guy is from an artist that charges over 200$ a piece sometimes @Sunseahl
I know an artist like that... But her art is modled in 3D, then painted digitally....
This guy likes to do high detail stuff
especially cyborg/robot
Stripe <3
Strype
BTW... Here's her art...
i don't follow any artists that draw artsy shit
just naked anime girls
kek
u can do both
<https://youtu.be/7J7FQwS6RWI?t=73> U think Tim would like this quote?
ik, but the ones i follow don't lmao
I follow artsy shit AND anime tiddies
I think what most people are referring to when they're talking about stylistically "bad" furry art is the mango inspired one, the results you get from someone applying those "learn to draw manga" tutorials/books to characters with animal features. Flat color, hard thin outlines, simple facial features, basic human body, and usually heavy use of accessories
It works for manga, which is designed to be fast & easy to do. You can cram so much expression into eyes and mouth it doesn't really matter the head itself is just a flat circle, but when you replace the head with a small-eyed animal one with a weirdly shaped snout, it doesn't work so well and it all comes off as rather lifeless
There is some overlap of course (the Japanese styles being directly inspired by Disney's style, and few people having only ONE source of inspiration), but overall I'd say "proper" Disney style furshit is pretty uncommon
Something like this for example. There's only so much you can do artistically no matter how good you get technically, because the style lacks all the expressiveness you could get from anime style and replace it with... Nothing, essentially.
Also fuck that color palette
those are some pretty awful designs alright
half of them have the same face
