Depends who you ask. A lot of people simply don't care. There are some that do remember but doing enything about it is virtually impossible because everyone around us hate our guts (some for a good reasons and some just because). There is still re occurring issue of people who got resettled in the past forcefully to places like Siberia and they or their descendants would like to come back to fatherland but are usually too poor. Other than some occasional gesture there is not much done in this regard.

@Mr. Nessel slight correction because I got smacked in the head for it. She told me to relay that she knows the language (Kashubian), understands it and can use it instinctively. The problem she mentions with the Kashubian is that it's extremely not unified language (it is not as refined as German or Polish). There can be differences in words and grammar between two villages or cities just few kilometers apart.

Though, there were attempts at complying the language into one package with varying degrees of success.

So it's not like people don't care and let it die. But certainly the our current cultural and political climate doesn't help.
