@Vannevariable Not really. Vietnam was much different than the US and the expierence would have been closer to the Boer War for anyone who invaded the US (CONUS). The Viet Cong (Charley) had no local sources of arms and ammo, all of their stuff was passed along to them by other "Socialist Brother Nations". The Boers had all their own arms and ammo and held off the British across most of a decade. It wasn't until the Union of South Africa treaty brought them as commonwealth partners did the British get victory.
