Is it?
The three branches were designed to be able to counter each other
The Presidency has the ability to abolish the government and reform it in response to any crisis anywhere.
The veto alone should be plenty in a lot of ways
Thing with executive orders too though is that next prez can just erase it
@RyeNorth you mean martial law?
There was an executive order put forward by Obama that increased the scope of presidential power.
I can't seem to find it...
I recall one where it split governance to 12 districts r something
I can't seem to find it. Tim's even mentioned it before.
Anyway, one of the main purposes for many of the government departments is to blur the lines of the constitution so that they can bypass the 10th amendment.
The FDA, for instance, wasn't something called for by the constitution.
And yet they can restrict drugs, foods, and serve as an accelerating force for the monopolization of medicine.
essentially operating as a gatekeeper.
how would you get rid of it at this point though, when everyone loves it
That's a great question! How would you get rid of something that everyone loves, NativeInterface?
i dont know, it seems we have the same problem
I've said as much.
Dictatorship?
\/s
you have to get people to love dictatorship first, its pretty easily done with communism

In 10 years' time I plan to run as the first Dictator of the U.S.
Then, after 4 years, there will be a peaceful transition of power
what if you win again?
then we would have to wait 8 years
Damn
I don't think I could be a dictator for more than 4
you gotta be pretty weird to enjoy being in that role
Give me millions of dollars when you are dictator and I will help keep the peace
That is a pretty good bargain
buy me as a contractor im the best and i promise to be honest about my pricing

i thought it was jr tolkien
He may have said something similar
I said that quote 😃
Jk
Washington set the standard because he really didn't want to be leader anymore
Didn't really want to do it in the first place either
The people wanted to make Washington a king
