Of course there will be more degenerate behavior and attitudes with a lack of religious upbringing. The two have been intrinsically tied due to the heavy influence of religions for literal millenia. It's only a relatively recent phenomena where its influence has declined somewhat.

Even the current revelations about priests mostly involve things that happened in the '80s and '90s that just got covered up. Public schools are way more dangerous. So are foster homes. And other secular institutions. Catholic priests are safer than the average man ont he streeet, and WAY safer than teachers or foster home people or juvie prison guards. But don't expect the media to say that!

They're also no more dangerous than other Christian ministers--who are all less dangerous than schoolteachers.
