not because theyre widespread idiots
Same
I had to moan endlessly to my mother to get it
"We dont need that shit"
"We dont need a computer"
Nowadays she cant go 5 seconds without her fucking phone, its absurd, im more off the internet then my mother now lol
because i dont have a smartphone
I don't have a cell phone period.
got tired of constantly being called and people drawing my attention 24/7 from everywhere but where i currently was
I need a cellphone for work
I think having access to the internet is literally a requirement to society at this point.
I hate phones
i do to but thats the phone at work
not all the time
"How do u find a place without GPS on ur phone etc etc???"
Easy, i ask people
but how do they know?
and i plan ahead
turtles all the way down
For work i got a GPS obviously
but when im off to go to a restaurant or something or a vaction?
I just ask people directions, you would be surprised how easy it is
and often u get to talk a bit with local ppl
I don't like relying on GPS too much, because it's like relying on waypoints in videogames
You play Morrowind Cata?
kind of ruins the game
i got a photographic memory thing
i can visit a place once and remember how to get there for years after
I have, but wasn't able to get into it. Don't know why, because it's just the type of game I normally like. I wish I had played it closer to release.
I don't really think it's the internet or phones or whatever that or bad; it's just that the business model currently incentivizes maximal engagement (for ad revenue), regardless of whether it's good or bad
Hence, clickbait headlines
Try it again maybe? I'd suggest improved beast animations and halberds that are better at chopping and slashing.
@velvitonator You're talking about Tim, right?
I think its in two parts velvi
Some of that it changing with e.g. Patreon and other, less centralized funding models
the business model is catering heavily towards validation (likes, comments, etc etc)
so it automatically drives attention

Didn't The Orville have an episode about that?
but i dont think its healthy to have constant access to it in your pocket.
Ultimately its the responsability of the person itself ofc, its your own choice
