I mean marxism also calls for the "endless revolution" and a global uprising against capitalism.

2018-10-30 18:15:31 UTC

Except if that was true then how come rape us immoral? Some people could find it moral

2018-10-30 18:15:41 UTC

While the relationship between individuals and responsibility to mortality already exists and is able to exist in the ideal way you are proposing.

2018-10-30 18:15:45 UTC

yeah I dont agree with the relativist standpoint

2018-10-30 18:15:51 UTC

its not

2018-10-30 18:16:01 UTC

ask some Muslim countries

2018-10-30 18:16:21 UTC

@>_ Marxism argues that it is practically impossible to reach the ideal structure while acting within the current structure.

2018-10-30 18:16:32 UTC

at one point, slavery was not immoral either

2018-10-30 18:16:39 UTC

neither is killing

2018-10-30 18:16:44 UTC

Alright so what is wrong with the idea that individuals should be responsible to themselves first?

2018-10-30 18:17:10 UTC

@>_ It is insufficient to prevent suffering.

2018-10-30 18:17:21 UTC

Alright, what is more efficient then?

2018-10-30 18:17:34 UTC

The ideal social structure which I described earlier.

2018-10-30 18:17:36 UTC

if you cannot achieve your system through voluntary action, and people cannot own their own labour, doesnt that mean you've forcibly organized people into a labour structure without their consent and without allowing them the ability to determine what they will work for?

2018-10-30 18:17:43 UTC

What structure of responsibility to mortality is more efficient than individuals being responsible to themselves?

2018-10-30 18:17:55 UTC

The one which I described earlier.

2018-10-30 18:18:12 UTC

The one in which each individual is responsible for all other individuals mortality?

2018-10-30 18:18:18 UTC

Yes.

2018-10-30 18:18:20 UTC

Alright.

2018-10-30 18:18:32 UTC

I consider that proposal highly inefficient, and immoral.

2018-10-30 18:18:46 UTC

but on the moral point, I would argue that killing and chattel slavery were both wrong always, and that people simply had a differing view on them

2018-10-30 18:18:55 UTC

I would have to agree with @v

2018-10-30 18:19:08 UTC

Unless allowed to exist willingly while others can be responsible for themselves alone.

*Which is the system we have now.*

2018-10-30 18:19:08 UTC

what happens when one individuals stops accepting responsibility for all other individuals mortality?

2018-10-30 18:19:28 UTC

Consider the family discussed earlier. If all individuals in the family were responsible only for their own existence, then the child would freeze and starve, one parent would freeze, and one parent would starve.

2018-10-30 18:19:49 UTC

Clearly, the former is more sufficient to prevent suffering.

2018-10-30 18:19:55 UTC

The parents **willingly** accept responsibility for their child. This happens now under capitalism.

2018-10-30 18:20:07 UTC

Capitalists don't just eat their children for protein for "efficiency."

2018-10-30 18:20:11 UTC

its in the parents best interest to keep a child alive in the hopes of that child keeping them alive when they are no longer able to provide for themselves (i.e. get old)

2018-10-30 18:20:19 UTC

They are allowed to accept responsibility for their children willingly.

2018-10-30 18:20:22 UTC

<:NPC:500042527231967262>

2018-10-30 18:20:40 UTC

it is in a child's best interest to keep a parent alive as a source of knowledge on to how to stay alive

2018-10-30 18:20:41 UTC

And in the same way, in the ideal social structure, labour is provided to others out of implicit compassion.

2018-10-30 18:21:01 UTC

It is simply a scaled-up version of a family structure.

2018-10-30 18:21:10 UTC

This can only exist within a free market allowing people to stand up and do so willingly.

2018-10-30 18:21:23 UTC

what happens when one individuals stops accepting responsibility for all other individuals mortality? What happens to the system?

2018-10-30 18:21:37 UTC

That doesn't really make any sense, seeing as the ideal social structure exists in many places and is explicitly opposed to markets.

2018-10-30 18:21:37 UTC

what happens when the child doesn't care for the elderly parents?

2018-10-30 18:21:54 UTC

@Grenade123 Sorry, I'm only answering "v" right now.

2018-10-30 18:22:19 UTC

Markets are comprised of people doing things other people need done. They are comprised of those "carpenters" and "farmers" and many people providing for their kids and dependents.

2018-10-30 18:22:39 UTC

They provide these things willingly and out of need to sustain their own lives, and helping others sustain theirs.
