the reform islam movement needs to be birthed and gain traction in the western world

2018-12-26 01:03:39 UTC

that way it is sympathetic to western values

2018-12-26 01:03:56 UTC

and fly the banner of islam in the face of the ' old barbaric interpretation'

2018-12-26 01:03:56 UTC

It is not possible!

2018-12-26 01:04:08 UTC

how so?

2018-12-26 01:04:16 UTC

the bible has been rewritten before

2018-12-26 01:04:33 UTC

Yes, but the Bible didn't have the death penalty for apostatcy

2018-12-26 01:05:05 UTC

but the new koran may get rid of that clause and since it would start under the protection of western values have a pretty strong foothold to gain traction

2018-12-26 01:05:34 UTC

And then someone finds the "old scriptures" and reverts the shit back to the beginning.

2018-12-26 01:05:59 UTC

because that is what has happened in the last 20-40 years in the Islamic world!
Just look at Kabul 1960s and now.

2018-12-26 01:06:08 UTC

yeah i saw

2018-12-26 01:06:15 UTC

and the history for that change is pretty nuts

2018-12-26 01:07:25 UTC

so the only thing you can do is to convert them to Christianity...
And if you have to deport them and remove them from western civilization....

2018-12-26 01:07:42 UTC

i have a friend who converted to muslim

2018-12-26 01:07:52 UTC

hes currently fighting in the middle east against radical islam

2018-12-26 01:07:57 UTC

Condolences....

2018-12-26 01:08:08 UTC

i have hope for a new more western islam

2018-12-26 01:08:17 UTC

its a rather nice idea

2018-12-26 01:08:26 UTC

replace the old and busted with a new and acceptable

2018-12-26 01:08:28 UTC

Um, Stefan, many a Christian through history has been killed for apostacy

2018-12-26 01:08:37 UTC

I don't. Because if it happens, it won't last long and Islam will always revert back...

2018-12-26 01:09:17 UTC

And there more progressive forms of Islam. I know adherants of it.

2018-12-26 01:09:34 UTC

but they do need a rebranding

2018-12-26 01:09:39 UTC

Yes

2018-12-26 01:09:55 UTC

a new name to separate them from the radicals

2018-12-26 01:09:59 UTC

@DrYuriMom how close are those tho Christians??

2018-12-26 01:10:26 UTC

You mean how close is the interpretation to Christianity?

2018-12-26 01:10:36 UTC

yes

2018-12-26 01:11:05 UTC

i see it like Christian vs Catholics

2018-12-26 01:11:16 UTC

Islam needs a christian

2018-12-26 01:12:19 UTC

See, if you remove all that Conquest and savage bullshit out of the Islamic scriptures, you'll end up with a shitty copy of the Bible.

2018-12-26 01:12:46 UTC

you dont remove the conquest, you just adapt the message

2018-12-26 01:13:00 UTC

and the end agreement

2018-12-26 01:13:17 UTC

The five Pillars of Islam are fundamental tenants of the faith and have nothing to do with violence

<#463068752725016579> is in slowmode. You will be able to post there again in 0.0 second, alright?

okay mee6 LOL

2018-12-26 01:30:19 UTC

Now just get the 95% of the muslim world that doesn't, to practice those progressive forms of it

2018-12-26 01:32:49 UTC

That will be difficult but not impossible. Indonesia is the most populous Muslim nation and for the most part is not radicalized. Turkey was pretty secular as well although lately they have a leader that is conflating religion with nationalism.

2018-12-26 01:33:37 UTC

Modi is doing the same thing with Hinduidm and heaven knows we've had Presidents do the same thing with Christianity.

2018-12-26 01:34:21 UTC

Converting 95 percent of over a billion people will be difficult. You have a way with the poetic understatement, Cat.

2018-12-26 01:34:44 UTC

Religious absolutism can fade. We have seen it happen before. Usually economic prosperity helps.
