The UK one was a child diagnosed with basically a fatal condition then refused to allow the kid to be moved to another country for treatment under the premise it was in too bad a condition to move and that moving it was child abuse

The US one was worse imo

They took their sick kid to a children's doctor

The doctor diagnosted the child with some disease and the parents didn't believe it for one reason or another. I forget the exact reason but it was situation where such a disease didn't make a lot of sense, so they wanted to wait on treatment as they got a second opinion.

Well the doctor contacted the state and the state came in to take the child.

I don't believe we have a resources problem in the western world so much as we have a logistics problem.

I think there are enough people willing to part voluntarily with enough of their money to cover most costs people need welfare for. Even to cover medical debt not currently covered. And even cover things most people don't see as nessisary

This is one of the failings of the atheist movement imo. The have not found a good replacement for the church to anchor communities.

For my view, whatever you have as your 'anchor' is your communities' God.

i have seen too many "Christians" who's belief in god is nothing more than statement with 0 facts behind it to believe God is really required.

i think for them social pressure is more the deciding factor

a transcendent being is not necessary, but a "goal" of sorts is definitely required

@Timcast Tim, I am on the Left. I'm on the Left in the UK. I stood shoulder to shoulder with black block against a kettle of riot cop at Occupy London. I still agree with the things we were protesting.
You have target on your back because they thought you were one of theirs. When they found out you had your own principles and would report what you saw they felt betrayed. They had put hope /trust and support into you and you slung it to the wall.
You often complain in your videos that there are a group of people that clip you out of context and spread it around Reddit. These people are, as you've mentioned, a very small minority of the population with a very squeaky wheel.
Now they have figured out that smearing you using your direct quotes is not enough, they have to go after you through 'Guilt by association'.
The people that think screen shots from a Disord server mean anything are not the people you are trying to reach. And I don't mean to demean anyone but anyone telling you ban someone or else is not some one you want on your team. They are not trying to find the truth, they are not interested in helping progress the convocation. They are only interested in tearing down their foe.
These are people that will attack you where ever you are and what ever you are doing. Redemption is not an option.
As for trolls on here. are you going to say everyone on the Left is the same as the Bick Lock Basher?
This server needs clearer rules, more mods and a much better warning system.

The solution seems simple to me. I agree, more mods.
Or rather, there isn't really any moderation at all right now. People being kicked for simply trying to get moderation attention on an issue (like being harassed) has fostered a soviet era atmosphere of fear and paranoia.
You either need a free for all, or you need rules with moderation.
Right now this server has neither of those things.
Pick some people from the community that *want* to moderate and will do so fairly and will not complain about being contacted to do moderation. I guarantee if you made the offer several people would take on the responsibility.
