Vigalantes are as easily corruptable as the courts are in

2019-02-05 23:58:20 UTC

In mexico they are as bad as the cartel. So you want some law to have power over people.

2019-02-05 23:58:23 UTC

vigilantes and the death penalty arnt comparible

2019-02-05 23:58:36 UTC

They are in the sense of self defense

2019-02-05 23:58:42 UTC

no they arnt

2019-02-05 23:58:49 UTC

If a murderer goes on a rampage and kills alot of ppl

2019-02-05 23:58:49 UTC

theres no self defense against the death penalty

2019-02-05 23:59:00 UTC

Whose responsibility should it be to handle?

2019-02-05 23:59:12 UTC

Well its gotta be extremely bad

2019-02-05 23:59:20 UTC

the death penalty only applys to people who dont fight the law

2019-02-05 23:59:37 UTC

I think felonies are forgivable, but if you killed like 5 ppl

2019-02-06 00:00:06 UTC

It should be extreme. And life in prison is what kind of life?

2019-02-06 00:00:14 UTC

if you deserve to be in prison your whole life atleast the court isint killing innocent people

2019-02-06 00:00:27 UTC

Well its gotta be beyond a shadow of a doubt

2019-02-06 00:00:34 UTC

that doesent exist

2019-02-06 00:00:53 UTC

Its why i did say extreme. I do agree with you. The death penaltynis far and few the times its used

2019-02-06 00:01:03 UTC

It should exist but not be excerised

2019-02-06 00:01:09 UTC

death penaltys are useless

2019-02-06 00:01:38 UTC

I suppose. But i think putting someone in prison for life is also useless.

2019-02-06 00:02:21 UTC

if the death penalty only applys to the most extreme cases then it only applies to the smallest minority of prisoners, thus it barely effects the cost of running prisons, thus the only net effect the death sentence has which doesent get changed to apply to more people is killing innocent people

2019-02-06 00:02:36 UTC

Id have to agree with you there

2019-02-06 00:02:44 UTC

putting someone in prison for life gives the innocent there entire lives to try and prove their innocence

2019-02-06 00:03:18 UTC

I dont disagree with this statement

2019-02-06 00:04:51 UTC

not to mention in systems where the death penalty is for the most extreme cases the process is everything but streamlined, and a nonstreamlined process is expensive. deathpenaltys in modern america actually cost more than an entire life sentence due to legal fees of the battle a person makes to prevent themselves being killed by the court

2019-02-06 00:05:25 UTC

Hey just remember, there are people who are proud of what they did.

2019-02-06 00:05:40 UTC

Who will smile at the camera and say they did do it

2019-02-06 00:06:02 UTC

But at least if there is remorse there is redemption

2019-02-06 00:06:52 UTC

the death sentence historically has been for one thing and one thing only, cost effecency. but the reason for that cost effecentcy is because they actually didint keep people jailed for long periods of time and had some punishments that would be cruel in the eye of american constitution

2019-02-06 00:06:58 UTC

Ill just say that there are times in life a bullet is appropriate.

2019-02-06 00:07:14 UTC

Otherwise dont kill anyone.

2019-02-06 00:07:55 UTC

unfortunately the deathpenalty does more harm than good in whatever system its applied to

2019-02-06 00:08:18 UTC

because humans can never actually know the truth

2019-02-06 00:08:47 UTC

its a universal limitation, without omnipotence there is always innacurracy

2019-02-06 00:09:29 UTC

justice exists for the innocent not for the vengeful

2019-02-06 00:09:56 UTC

that must be an absolute in any system that claims to work for the betterment of people's lives

2019-02-06 00:10:27 UTC

I dont believe in an eye for an eye

2019-02-06 00:10:44 UTC

A murderer shouldnt get the death penalty right away

2019-02-06 00:11:19 UTC

Im just saying the death penalty should exist for rare extreme cases

2019-02-06 00:11:34 UTC

Like cult leaders or serial killers

2019-02-06 00:12:04 UTC

if you have a death penalty innocent people will turn themselves into the court system with the understanding that it exists to protect them and then be put to death by it at the greater expense of the taxpayer no less. there is absolutely no method of designing a death penalty which does not have this result

2019-02-06 00:12:35 UTC

you can only reduce its likelyhood, you cant guarentee it
