A murderer shouldnt get the death penalty right away

Im just saying the death penalty should exist for rare extreme cases

Like cult leaders or serial killers

if you have a death penalty innocent people will turn themselves into the court system with the understanding that it exists to protect them and then be put to death by it at the greater expense of the taxpayer no less. there is absolutely no method of designing a death penalty which does not have this result

you can only reduce its likelyhood, you cant guarentee it

i just dont understand why you want to live in a country which a serial killer who's identity is unknown is eventually caught but it happens to be you and due to extreme police incompatence and the emotion of the people involved your put on death row while the serial killer for some reason chooses not to contenue, either because he doesent want to get caught, moves elsewhere, or dies due to some other mundain cause, in which case the police not being able to find any other evidence pointing to anyone else, not to mention being refocused just to find evidence for your case decides that instead of admiting they were wrong choose to do anything in their power (consiterible power because they will get away with it) to get you convicted and then you end up never being able to proove your innocence and you are put to death for a crime you never commited.

i only mention this in so much detail because its happened before in this EXACT way more than once

ive already explained how its more expensive, how you dont benefit from it, and how it doesent actually effect crime

yes, because self defense isint the court system asking you to drop all weapons, render yourself completely defenseless, allow them to put you in a box that you cannot escape from without external assistance, and then put your faith into them not killing you

So in that instance life matters less

life matters in self defense

An individual can dispense their own justice

There is plenty of examples. Especially big time drug dealers

There are men who are still a danger just by being alive.

Im fine with ppl dying. I want to save as many as i can. Just death is a part of it

if the death sentence is so slow in the example of the death sentence you argued you were fine with because you were consitering both extreme cases as well as giving them lots of time to defend themselves in court then they have plenty of time to be broken out of jail

not to mention you could just put them in higher security
