I'll agree that only linking articles and not really talking all that much is kind of spammy, though, yeah.
I mean
I'm not -that- afraid of getting banned, I'm just saying there's a difference between having a room called that, and having a literal, actual nazi spam literal, actual nazi shit
He did kinda just say "how long can they milk this shit" about a museum dedicated to the holocaust
You know that and I know that, but in terms of optics, if someone from discord wanted to down the server, they wouldn't care. I don't think the context would matter to them in this case.
I know, I do notice how he tends to go on about 'da joos.' lol
Yeah, it's pretty silly. But at the same time, he's kinda covered by 1A if that's a thing we agree with here. :/
At the third time, this is both A: Tim's server, and B: a service provided by Discord, and users of the server therefore have to abide by the rules for usage set by both Tim and Discord themselves.
I'm gonna risk sounding a bit ignorant here and ask what 1A is? lol
first amendment.
Oh, I've never heard of it referred to in that way before.
He hasn't posted any calls to violence or anything like that...
Which, to be frank, as a war historian I find that very horrid and misrepresentive of the camps that were in poland and amongst other places. On top of that, Discord does not have to follow the first amendment. They can, and will, ban the lot of us and will get Tim taken down by them.
At the end of the day, none of us are mods and it is ultimately up to Tim what he wants to do with people that do such things, I guess.
Just rather not have the alt-right title applied to me when I'd be one of the first in the oven so to say, and he's said it himself, the alt-right would hate him as well.
Half of my family tree is gone due to the Nazi occupation of my country, so yeah
Same kind of deal
It wasn't just the jews who suffered in those camps. You had the Polish, the gays, invalids, mental patients, prisoners of war, masons, gypsys...
I could go on.
Yeah.
Or went into actual, organised Resistance
Half my family tree is gone because the patriarch on that side of the family and his sons decided to go into the organized resistance. One of the sons (my great grandfather) was out of the country at that time
He was the only person from that side of the family to survive
It's just when ya turn 6 million~ people into ash and dust for their beliefs and genetics? Yeah... that makes ya a shit person... to deny and then spit vile hatred to the people who suffered ...
So, essentially, it's likely time to stop framing the holocaust as just an antisemetic tragedy and instead an authoritarian tragedy. I could agree there.
Yeah.
Maybe that's what our Aryan buddy is trying to get across: That Hitler was an equal-opportunity oppressor for the most part.
😄
I notice he seems to have left.
🤔
Bah... probably was waiting for one of us to say something.
Has probably been taking screen shots of the chat logs too.
Possibly.
Like I said before, I'm a supporter of free speech. That means, if someone's saying something that's bullshit, you've got to fight it with words, logic, and the like.
... Guess our words scared him off. By the way, not a fan of Alt-right peeps. Not a fan of antifa either.
Just had a conversation the other day in Hate Speech Room, I don't see that much of a difference between the two.
Yeah, I'm not saying we couldn't argue or debate the guy, just that I think it would've been wrong just to have him kicked.
That's where I stand, as well.
Unless he did something kick-worthy, of course. lol
Most importantly, I don't believe the alt-right should be made to be quiet. They should be challenged vocally.
