And well, they have the media on their side
well the overlapping issue is that One side refuses to achnowledge it happens to both sides, and instead blames the other side
so the other side stops caring because they can't win either way with them
and then you get a divide that can be exploited
Like the last US election Ill assume
Kinda wierd to say at least.
Dunno how wrong but I saw people change left to right when they realised games were threatened by the left now.
I mean, I changed my perspective as well.
well, its cuz like in reality, 90% of the world just wants to be left alone, and live their own life without interference from outside
gamers especially, cuz they just wanna game, they don't care about politics at all or who's in charge, just let them have their job to stay alive and game in their free time
Youre telling me of all people lol
but the progressive left somehow decreed that a middle ground no longer exists, and until the "enemy"(whoever they decide nowadays) is utterly destroyed forever, theres only us vs them
Well, lets say that theres people out there that gave zero fucks about politics
Now hate it with a passion
Kicked the hornets nest as they say
well, its literally because those people don't care they literally say "leave me alone" and these political people barge in going "No! there can be no more aloneness until you fully realised the world as we see it", and these people now just hop to anyone that announces they'll make the loud political whine-ists go away
Cringy messages in cartoons?
I remember those.
eugh, new Marvel comics
Well I meant back then
😛
Remakes of the violent ones?
Those were cringy. So seeing how they are basically doing it with all these walking sims
what was that game again? "Gone Home"?
about walking through a fictional home and discovering messages about a lesbian pre-adolescent kid that ran away cuz she was unhappy unless she was with her army gf?
Well, problem I had with is wasnt the game itself
I mean I thought the game was just well, okay. Okay 2-5 bucks for one playthrough
It was novel, interesting for a first time. But forgettable in the end
I only had issues with the journalism around it
Like I literally know nobody who has played it
well the issue is that it was poorly made, had no game elements to it, no replay value and no "believable" message
so people just went "what is this crap and why am i paying money for this?"
and disliking it means you don't like it, hence you hate the creators suddenly because hating a product is somehow hating on the maker
making you literally hitler or something 😛
but the journalists would harp on about it
I mean, I back then was real liberal (the real kind) when it came to what can go into games.
Still am actually, not implying I am not that now
i understand you, but sadly the word "liberal"is just tainted now into being a crazy person
Well, we got rape sims, a columbine sim, and even a mass shooting sim. Still was okay with all of them.
So no reason for me to not tolerate Gone Home. I just, didnt like the journalism around it
and the reason journalists harp on about it is because they need media shock
they can't break the news because of twitter tweets etc beating them to it, meaning they can't be the "first to report"
hence they have to draw an audience from somewhere else, which is by actually creating the news by making problems where there are none
then getting that bullshit pointed out, and whining about being harassed for "reporting the news"
Well, problem is that journalism around games is basically obsolete.
We got actual gamers submitting entire playthroughs
Speedrunners.
