The whole theory of monarch is based on 3 school of philosophy

1 is that if you want the most stable government, you choose a pre-existing monarch and keep the status quo. Might makes right at its origin. The will to power.

2 is what I've recently discussed in the mandate of heaven where if your governorship was essentially good and prosperous for the nation, you were destined to rule. Otherwise the inability to handle natural disaster and shit planning means you have lost the destiny to rule.

3 is where the monarch does literally nothing with domestic and foreign affairs

but in fact serves to be the figurehead of the nation and commander of the army

The third philosophy has been more prevalent as the monarchy has been more of a popular figure rather than a dictating figure.

1) What is stable about squabbles for the crown which lead to deaths and destruction within the country which you are supposed to work for.

2) Mandate of heaven is complete bullshit with no evidence to show that is even a decent way of determining ruler. That would be the same thing as saying if lightning strikes you, you deserve to die.

3) If the monarch does nothing but as a figure head you need a mascot not a royal twat, it's not at any point necessary to have them.
