the socialism advocated for today is market socialism

2019-05-28 05:49:24 UTC

ie we dont abolish the markets that exist in capitalism

2019-05-28 05:49:29 UTC

theyre good and useful

2019-05-28 05:49:47 UTC

we just have extremely heavy restrictions on ownership

2019-05-28 05:50:02 UTC

which is never good for the markets

2019-05-28 05:50:05 UTC

ie if a company gets above $x marketcap, its either nationalised or mutualised

2019-05-28 05:50:10 UTC

see thats where youre wrong

2019-05-28 05:50:17 UTC

point to a single example where thats been true

2019-05-28 05:50:39 UTC

(i can point to a million examples of private ownership going wrong)

2019-05-28 05:51:43 UTC

I´ll give you an example: lets say you put the nationalisation cap to 10 billion in revenue. Now tell me, why tf should I develope my company to reach that 10 billion revenue mark? I´ll just keep it in the 9 billion mark.

2019-05-28 05:52:16 UTC

Companies will basically be told "DONT FUCKING GROW OR WE NATIONALISE U"

2019-05-28 05:52:18 UTC

well i personally advocate for discretion

2019-05-28 05:52:22 UTC

rather than particular number

2019-05-28 05:52:24 UTC

BUT

2019-05-28 05:52:35 UTC

that just promotes insecurity

2019-05-28 05:52:38 UTC

i know

2019-05-28 05:52:43 UTC

so if we did have to use a number

2019-05-28 05:52:49 UTC

we dont have to mandate nationalisation

2019-05-28 05:52:53 UTC

it can be mutualisation

2019-05-28 05:53:06 UTC

ie the workers all get a slice of the revenues

2019-05-28 05:53:16 UTC

but you know what we can do to keep the incentives in place?

2019-05-28 05:53:26 UTC

we allow the original owner to have the same piece he had before

2019-05-28 05:53:52 UTC

so there is still inequality generated by successful entrepreneurship

2019-05-28 05:53:58 UTC

but its capped

2019-05-28 05:54:01 UTC

it doeswent work like that

2019-05-28 05:54:09 UTC

yea so then debunk it bud

2019-05-28 05:54:21 UTC

owner has 100% of the shares

2019-05-28 05:54:28 UTC

now you give the company to the people

2019-05-28 05:54:35 UTC

but he still has the same amount of shares?

2019-05-28 05:54:39 UTC

does not compute

2019-05-28 05:54:39 UTC

no omfg

2019-05-28 05:54:39 UTC

GG @Green Syndicalism, you just advanced to level 2!

2019-05-28 05:54:46 UTC

okay let me make it clearer

2019-05-28 05:54:54 UTC

say you hold 100 shares

2019-05-28 05:55:04 UTC

and your net revenues are say $100

2019-05-28 05:55:30 UTC

each share is worth about $1 in net revenue

2019-05-28 05:55:42 UTC

if $100 was the mutualisation or nationalisation mark

2019-05-28 05:56:34 UTC

we hand everyone in the company 1 share each, but each share is divided amongst the net profits *above the $100 in net revenue*

2019-05-28 05:56:46 UTC

so the owner's shares are fundamentally worth a different amount to the newly issued shares

2019-05-28 05:56:51 UTC

and they are left untouched

2019-05-28 05:57:10 UTC

you know how in capitalism we have different classes of shares?
