It isn't "made up", it's in the deal's provisions.

2020-02-16 13:52:55 UTC

The article talks about "it doesn't go far enough to answer structural issues", but this is a phase one deal. Not a full trade deal.

2020-02-16 13:53:01 UTC

Phase 2 will answer subsidies etc.

2020-02-16 13:53:18 UTC

you dont know shit about anything, do you?

2020-02-16 13:53:36 UTC

Sounds like a loaded question

2020-02-16 13:53:50 UTC

I clearly understand economics, how do you think I'm schooling you?

2020-02-16 13:54:08 UTC

"oh it doesn't matter that we lost 500 billion over here when we gained 200 billion in exports"

2020-02-16 13:54:10 UTC

absolute moron.

2020-02-16 13:54:16 UTC

We didn't lose 500 billion

2020-02-16 13:54:19 UTC

I am an economist

2020-02-16 13:54:25 UTC

you're the one who won't even fucking read.

2020-02-16 13:54:35 UTC

So where's this 500 billion?

2020-02-16 13:54:44 UTC

it wasn't a real number

2020-02-16 13:54:50 UTC

it was a guesstimate

2020-02-16 13:54:55 UTC

I know, just like your economics degree.

2020-02-16 13:54:57 UTC

Isn't real.

2020-02-16 13:55:10 UTC

As I was saying, 200 billion each year increased over **pre trade war levels**

2020-02-16 13:55:11 UTC

That's huge.

2020-02-16 13:55:17 UTC

it wouldn't mean shit to you even if I showed you my certificate

2020-02-16 13:55:22 UTC

Go ahead, show it.

2020-02-16 13:55:34 UTC

go ahead, prove to me it would mean shit.

2020-02-16 13:55:41 UTC

mr. dishonest

2020-02-16 13:55:44 UTC

?

2020-02-16 13:55:52 UTC

lmao you don't even understand the question.

2020-02-16 13:55:56 UTC

hilarious.

2020-02-16 13:56:37 UTC

Anyways, the impacts of the trade war that were negative will be compensated. $200 billion increase in exports to China over the pre trade war level is fantastic. Because this deal isn't a one time thing, in a few years the welfare gain will be greater than the loss of the trade war.

2020-02-16 13:56:44 UTC

And a phase 2 deal coming soon will make it better.

2020-02-16 13:57:17 UTC

The article you linked talks about how it doesn't "go far enough", however the issue is it's a phase 1 deal - not final. @✨Skolander✨

2020-02-16 13:57:42 UTC

Besides idk why you linked that study from nber, I know the trade war hard short term ill-effects.

2020-02-16 13:57:47 UTC

they will just magically be compensated, lul

2020-02-16 13:57:55 UTC

Yes by seeing much higher exports.

2020-02-16 13:58:03 UTC

But the best part is the people who were most effected, farmers - have the highest approval of Trump ever.

2020-02-16 13:58:10 UTC

it's not that it doesn't go "far enough" that's the point, the point is you're losing money.

2020-02-16 13:58:11 UTC

So it can't have been *that* bad.

2020-02-16 13:58:17 UTC

We're not losing money with more exports.

2020-02-16 13:58:21 UTC

Are you stupid? haha

2020-02-16 13:58:31 UTC

yes you are when you import more than that

2020-02-16 13:58:39 UTC

That's not how trade works.

2020-02-16 13:58:41 UTC

and that 200 billion is fictional number

2020-02-16 13:58:47 UTC

that needs to be enforced

2020-02-16 13:58:50 UTC

We're not talking about deficits, I'm talking about how much us producers will gain.
