true, and that is most train traffic in the states

2018-09-01 20:13:09 UTC

but the problem is that where stuff is needed and where it is produced changes too fast for how long and costly it takes to build new rail lines

2018-09-01 20:13:11 UTC

The Deutsche Bahn seem to focus more on people and neglegt the transport of goods.

2018-09-01 20:14:00 UTC

in most of Europe, the density makes sense.

2018-09-01 20:14:18 UTC

the cost per mile of rail is very high.

2018-09-01 20:14:41 UTC

You can have big hubs like we have in Germany where for example Hamburg is one of the biggest hubs for goods. The next one would be Amsterdam IIRC.

2018-09-01 20:14:43 UTC

and its probably easier to turn a profit on passenger transit in dense areas than freight

2018-09-01 20:15:28 UTC

what works for rail transit in most of Europe doesn't work in the US because of how empty most of the country is

2018-09-01 20:15:41 UTC

i image Australia has a similar problem

2018-09-01 20:16:35 UTC

Freight is slow, can't have as much volume. But when you have lots of space, you can run super long trains. So you can get a lot done with 1 train. when you have a lot of people around, and the distances are not that great, it doesn't work as well

2018-09-01 20:16:55 UTC

Yeah but for example when I was little the big Farming goods companys (where you sell your grain to or get some other stuff) gotten their weres by train. But that stopped somehow.

2018-09-01 20:17:35 UTC

Ever heard about Rape Oil? šŸ˜‰

2018-09-01 20:17:36 UTC

have you looked to see if where those goods are produced vs where they are consumed has moved?

2018-09-01 20:18:18 UTC

Rape Oil, the number one export of Canada

2018-09-01 20:18:49 UTC

i know in the US, frieght traffic has taken a major hit since when most of the rails were first place. that's because of the rust belt. Lots of places that consumed metal moved. and metal was something that made sense to move by train

2018-09-01 20:19:46 UTC

since rail is very inflexible, it make more sense to ship things by truck rather than have rail lines running right into factories

2018-09-01 20:20:01 UTC

now i think coal is the number 1 thing that rail transports outside maybe oil.

2018-09-01 20:20:18 UTC

No, it makes sense to move the Trucks by Train šŸ˜›

2018-09-01 20:20:22 UTC

or work with Containers

2018-09-01 20:20:34 UTC

because most of the mines and power plants have lines going right to them

2018-09-01 20:20:39 UTC

With the Eisenhower Interstate System, there are more lanes of communictation

2018-09-01 20:21:38 UTC

the system should work like your circulatory system. Rail takes stuff to hubs, which then go by truck to their destination

2018-09-01 20:23:11 UTC

but you need to really plan that. and nothing has been planned

2018-09-01 20:23:39 UTC

so now everything is in the way, making it way expensive to fix things up and make them work again

2018-09-01 20:23:53 UTC

you wouldn't see a return on that investment possibly in your lifetime

2018-09-01 20:24:14 UTC

generally why people turn to the goverment for this stuff

2018-09-01 20:40:28 UTC

In short: underaged person lets camera team from local, state sponsored TV in, father throws them out. Camera Team(!!!) presses charges against the person who threw them out(!!)....

2018-09-01 20:40:43 UTC

Ƥhhhh, right...

2018-09-01 20:43:27 UTC

in Germany we also have "inviolability of the home" and there are also other things to consider. In short: Its a bad idea to not ask all persons if they are allowed and if it isn't a public thing...

2018-09-01 20:44:40 UTC

its just an example of the elitarianism of News Organizations....

2018-09-01 20:45:52 UTC

If a tree falls in the woods but someone else records it than did I really cut it down?

2018-09-01 21:19:13 UTC

@pratel Ford won to be Premier of the province of Ontario, he's in provincial politics and not federal. We'll see but I still think Trudeau gets back in with a minority government.

2018-09-01 21:21:41 UTC

I'm not very into Canadian politics, I really can't judge. I just hear Doug Ford passed around alot.

2018-09-01 21:23:41 UTC

No worries. It was just a fyi

2018-09-01 22:47:23 UTC

Whamans can't wear a jacket at work because they can't flaunt their tits to get ahead

Anti-White, racist Media tells there is no white Genocide, when they themselves propagate white Genocide.

It's kind of like Alt-Right Holocaust Deniers. 'The Holocaust never happened. But it'd be sure nice if it did'
