Wow

2018-09-09 14:50:57 UTC

That does actually sound shady

2018-09-09 14:51:04 UTC

FBIs grasping at straws

2018-09-09 14:51:15 UTC

Mueller might just be holding out for an interview with Trump at this point. There's not really much else left for him. Flynn trial is over, Manafort trial is over, Papadopoulos trial is over, Cohen trial is over. Doesn't seem like anything leads to further trials.

2018-09-09 14:51:26 UTC

They will find a way

2018-09-09 14:51:35 UTC

THey said impeachment will come from all the prior trials

2018-09-09 14:51:52 UTC

ANd judging from their responses so far. DOubtful they will let it lie

2018-09-09 14:52:42 UTC

There's some speculation that they might try to use Cohen as a witness against Trump but unless they have tapes of some unambiguous criminal activity it'll just be one man's word against anothers and Cohen is not a particularly credible witness.

2018-09-09 14:52:46 UTC

One thing that we can be sure of. If there are any straws left to grasp at, Mueller will grasp them.

2018-09-09 14:53:31 UTC

I mean, its nice and all they they want the president to be accountable and shit.

2018-09-09 14:53:37 UTC

It will also be hard to get him on campaign finance when the FEC hasn’t pointed to any wrong doing.

2018-09-09 14:53:41 UTC

But where were these fuckers when obama was around?

2018-09-09 14:53:45 UTC

Or Bush

2018-09-09 14:54:21 UTC

Another possibility is that Mueller does wrap up the investigation, but gives a press conference to give some kind of closing statement. He might say that he wasn't able to prove any wrong-doing, but that Trump acted in stupid or unethical ways. Basically implying that he's a criminal like Comey implied against Hillary.

2018-09-09 14:54:44 UTC

Exactly. Let’s do an open ended investigation on the Clinton and Bush families. I wonder how that would turn out.

2018-09-09 14:54:54 UTC

Save that for the last two weeks before the mid-terms for maximum damage.

2018-09-09 14:55:28 UTC

A good bet. We’ll see

2018-09-09 14:56:26 UTC

Honestly though I seriously doubt Trumps gonna be capable of cleaning house in the FBI

2018-09-09 14:56:42 UTC

The secrecy of the org means that the only way to hold people accountable is through blackmail

2018-09-09 14:56:47 UTC

The best way.

2018-09-09 14:56:58 UTC

And if dont stick, theres nothing to leash you

2018-09-09 15:03:34 UTC

Sessions was not a good choice for AG, but I understand why he was chosen. Sessions had been a good friend to Cruz and Trump had to offer him something big to get his support and undermine Cruz.

2018-09-09 15:03:50 UTC

And without a really good AG there's no hope of purging the FBI.

2018-09-09 15:05:08 UTC

Trump also left way too many Obama appointees in place. That was either simple naivety or simply due to the fact that he didn't have any loyal people who would be capable of assuming the positions.

2018-09-09 15:05:23 UTC

The FBI has had ethics issues since its conception. How do you clean up something that’s always been dirty?

2018-09-09 15:05:43 UTC

The fact that you have someone like Vince McMahon's wife in the Trump cabinet is proof that Trump didn't have a lot of people who he could trust.

2018-09-09 15:06:05 UTC

You can't make them moral, but you can make them afraid.

2018-09-09 15:06:20 UTC

True

2018-09-09 15:06:59 UTC

Orange jump-suits and ankle-chain perp-walks with media going wild. Let people in the FBI see their own paraded about in such a way and they'll quickly decide it isn't worth it to be crooked.

2018-09-09 15:07:54 UTC

You guys ever hear about the FBI framing 4 men for murder to hid the crimes of one of their informants?

Muller has a connection to that. It’s a small one. But interesting.

2018-09-09 15:10:57 UTC

They did? Is this old? I thought it would be bigger news

2018-09-09 15:11:55 UTC

It’s old

2018-09-09 15:12:36 UTC

But big. Those men were found innocent. The two living ones got 100 million for it

2018-09-09 15:12:41 UTC

Well explains alot then

2018-09-09 15:13:24 UTC

Every generation has an FBI corruption story like this.

2018-09-09 15:13:58 UTC

The Trump Russia investigation is our generations

2018-09-09 15:17:05 UTC

2007 was the last time this was in the news. Not that long ago.

One of the guys wasn’t even in the state at the time. He was in Florida. He died in prison.
The FBI knew the moment the killing happened, and who did it, but covered it up for years.

2018-09-09 15:19:26 UTC

I know the JFK had a theory that the FBI offed him

2018-09-09 15:19:32 UTC

Because he didnt like the FBI
