It's scary that retributive rape for social justice might actually be plausible.
People on twitter salty about Kavanaugh are already heading in that direction
Oh I am not even talking about "for social justice" I am just thinking Mob Mentality, how do you think "Mobbing them at the gas station" like Finestien suggested ends ?
How long until one of these "flash mobs" at a restaurant go on until some guy decides to follow behind a female member of the party and just says "fuck it she is a Nazi she deserves it."
https://www.reddit.com/r/censorship/comments/9j7yt5/the_act_which_will_censor_americans_internet_to/ Interesting thread about internet censorship coming to US @Timcast
Claire Lehman is on the Rubin Report. That's one I need to watch and not simply listen to 😍
@aukkras now that's scary. Is there a good, credible write up beyond a reddit post?
I should say, a sizeable number of people here do not like Reddit and will refuse to use it.
I think EFF is credible source. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2018/02/state-lawmakers-want-block-pornography-expense-your-free-speech-privacy-and-hard - this is what he linked
True, but it's also an activist organization.
You want something that looks more neutral if possible.
Even if it isn't.
no that shit needs to be highlighted
that sounds like one of the scummiest two faced bills i've read in awhile
Agreed.
It also seems like the kind of thing that would be abused.
Google already implements all sorts of filters they don't tell you about, but it would say you won't have an alternative should the need arise.
I'm rather agnostic but the writing on the bills website
*Sex” is good.* ***God made it.*** *But “healthy sex” is all about context.*
how about fuck the fuck off
This reminds me of a TradCath argument against the PUA lifestyle I heard recently, that it and hypergamy make sex a product to be consumed, and governments want consumers because they're easier to control. Which goes well with the language here ``` “Sex” is good. God made it. But “healthy sex” is all about context. Sex is powerful, and a government that cares about its people will pass laws to better enable and encourage its citizens to have sex in settings that accord with “the truth about our nature” and “the truth about the way things are.”```
A government isn't supposed to care about it's people.
Stop personifying government, people.
As much as I'm for the message, it's not government's message to send!
You cannot fix culture with law!
Do you want fascism? Because that's how you get fascism.
Some people do want fascism
Even if they say they're anti-fascism
Inb4 a train of accusers.
which of these is better:
Jeff "no better nickname" Flake?
Jeff "I'm a" Flake?
Jeff "Spineless" Flake
Yeah, basically
And it'll get more absurd too
Dems will have a whole week for smear campaigns and "victim" coaching.
Expect an actual rape case this time
Kav will be the one who's raped.
Even less credible, but still alleged
@Risotto for what littel I know of scripture, Sex was just *a thing*. God didn't intend it to exist
there's a passage somewhere where God, or jesus, don't quote me, laments that humans aren't a-reproducing or something but that if they must sex, do it in wedlock because that makes it holy or something
Before widespread Christianity there was neoplatonism which gave us the concept of natural law
