Somehow this doesn't suggest that they might have happened, but that they definitely didn't.
Out of all the arguments I never understood this particular one.
Well. If a hundred people of different cultures say the same thing, could it probably have happened?
Like the Jews doing 9/11?
And blaming it on Muslims so that Israel can occupy Gaza?
Here we go again
Everything is the Jews' fault, Muslims did nothing wrong
Just another fucking teenager who thought Nazi uniforms look cool
The only things Christianity co-opted from paganism were some holidays. Some argue that the imagery of Satan was taken from pagans too. If that’s true, it just means that the horned red guy is the wrong image. Not that Satan came from pagans.
Overlapping stories is what historians use to confirm an event actually happened. Not sure why one would suddenly disregard that concept when it comes to the accuracy of the Bible.
Satan being a red skinned horned imp that resides in hell is the wrong image. The bible never describes him as such. It was artistic design.
And as for the holidays they have lost all religious meaning and have become cultural festivities.
The horned imp is based off a nature god called ban I think
Holidays aren't necessarily copied, just overlapping. If you combine every pagan religion, then the majority of the calendar is holidays
It's inevitable that we will overlap
All these new age "enlightened" atheists say we just copied holidays in an attempt to discredit Christianity
Because it doesn't allow them to fuck each other in the ass
I had one of those calendars before. There is quite literally a holiday every week.
Christmas really was Dec 25, Biblical chronology adds up to a nine month pregnancy, and shepherds are still outdoors in Israel in December
Whether you believe he was the son of God or the son of a Roman soldier, is irrelevant to his birthday
Sorry I should have clarified. What I meant by “copied” holidays is that some of the practices have pagan origins. Like the Christmas tree, Easter eggs, etc. I’m used to getting arguments started on Facebook, so that’s usually good enough.
There's an explanation for the tree
Saint Boniface
If a bunch of people say the same thing tbere is probable truth in it, how would it support a lie? Its different from the jews doing 911 thing as these sources are reputable and not started by an internet rumor. For instance Jesus is around in Islamic writings. While it isnt definite proof its corroborating evidence that backs up his exiatance in a competing faith.
Also the Jews do everything shit is retarded.
It requires that most governments turn a blind eye or be completely oblivious to their shenanigns. And continue to allow solely for jew benefit.
But somehow internet edgelords know the truth? Not likely.
If Jews did 911 its because someone in America let them do it and helped it along. Jews have influence but it isnt a free check to play God at will.
My God
There's someone else that thinks the same as me
Idk I try to be completely fair about it.
Im sure Jesus is based somehow in reality
That there is no historical writings on him is somewhat irrelevant as everything with him in it is treated as religious text.
Relegion is heavily based in history and while the fiction is in religious text it shouldnt be disregarded entirely on that fact alone
I might get around to reading summa theologica
But that shits too long for me to just read on a whim
Well that and the fact that Jerusalem was sacked in 60 A.D., meaning that any records of his existence would have been lost during the Jewish revolt. However, thanks to Josephus and Tacitus, we know that Christianity was a thing as early as 80-90 A.D..
There's a handful of writings. Josephus and Tacitus mentioned him briefly
Not in any detail
Summa is really long but it's a good insight into Catholicism and Christianity in general, viewed through a kind of Greek logic perspective
It's something a lot of social justice Catholics would prefer to ignore. It destroys the whole tolerance, ecumenism, etc thing and also gives strong arguments in favor of capital punishment
