Thats true, but witg religions you can separate black and white with authority.

2018-08-28 20:54:58 UTC

you don't need religion to seperate your blacks and whites ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

2018-08-28 20:55:03 UTC

Then you are better than 95% of the christians. Coz in studies only 5% have actually read whole of the bible

2018-08-28 20:55:27 UTC

You dont need, but you wont have to highest authority.

2018-08-28 20:55:37 UTC

most atheists I know HAVE read it front to back and are atheists for the same reason.. the shit makes no sense

2018-08-28 20:55:58 UTC

True, but the main thing you have to consider is if they understand what is being said.

2018-08-28 20:56:15 UTC

liberal atheists, I fear, are tarnishing the name because it's a minority, so they are making it 'trendy'

2018-08-28 20:56:33 UTC

Liberal Atheists are the vast majority of Atheists.

2018-08-28 20:56:45 UTC

Or, should I say, Left-wonโ€™t Atheists.

2018-08-28 20:56:51 UTC

*wing

2018-08-28 20:57:14 UTC

statistically that is probably true.. which validates my point of them tarnishing it

2018-08-28 20:57:37 UTC

I don't actually mind individual Atheists.

2018-08-28 20:57:48 UTC

atheism shouldn't be regarded as a political stance... but many, as proved by earlier converstation, are starting to do just that

2018-08-28 20:57:56 UTC

My main problem is with Atheism as a larger group.

2018-08-28 20:58:15 UTC

Nearly all atheists have bibles. They read them to mock christians, and I think thats a bit rude, but if you use the book to study & understand the otherside, then I am fully supporting you.

2018-08-28 20:58:38 UTC

oh, one atheist won't agree fully with another just like one christian won't either.. both share the same concept of agreeing with the bigger picture but arguing over details

2018-08-28 20:59:03 UTC

They do, but so do all Christians.

2018-08-28 20:59:08 UTC

a secular nation probably wouldn't be any better than a religious one

2018-08-28 20:59:22 UTC

In fact, I carry one around because I end up getting in debates with Atheists quite a lot.

2018-08-28 20:59:40 UTC

A secular nation/society would not be much of a society at all.

2018-08-28 20:59:58 UTC

that is your opinion

2018-08-28 20:59:58 UTC

It would destroy itself through division or be condemned to authoritarianism.

2018-08-28 21:00:21 UTC

there has never been a secular nation so you have no basis for comparison and only a hypothesis

2018-08-28 21:01:14 UTC

republican spain?

2018-08-28 21:01:25 UTC

Yeah, Republican Spain during the Spanish Civil War.

2018-08-28 21:01:43 UTC

They actually perpetuated crimes against Catholic priests.

2018-08-28 21:01:52 UTC

Well if you want to wipe out all religions, vote for commies, they have tried that many times ๐Ÿค”

2018-08-28 21:02:14 UTC

People will be always creating new religions

2018-08-28 21:02:21 UTC

You can't really stop that

2018-08-28 21:02:27 UTC

Religion as a PERSONAL thing is fine. when it is forced, then its a problem

2018-08-28 21:02:39 UTC

Its part of our psychology.

2018-08-28 21:02:56 UTC

over time we may be able to overcome that

2018-08-28 21:03:02 UTC

or at least, tame it

2018-08-28 21:03:57 UTC

Lets say you take 50children from all of the nations, and then abandon them to random island for 20years.
When you come back they have invented their own religion

2018-08-28 21:04:25 UTC

and they will hold fast to their belief and they will be the right one and all others will be blasphemy

2018-08-28 21:04:39 UTC

No, you really can't.

2018-08-28 21:05:06 UTC

The problem is human nature is wired to desiring order and sense in seeming chaos and madness. It's why religion is as popular as it is.

2018-08-28 21:05:19 UTC

Even if the religion doesnt teach that the gods have created the world, even then the young children will say that earth was created by god(s).

2018-08-28 21:05:33 UTC

I believe it would happen... it is in our nature to be curious.. as children we always ask questions.... in a remote location with no other influence, stories would be made up to answer those questions

2018-08-28 21:06:48 UTC

People turn to religion because it attempts to bring about a sense of order and clarity needed to make sense of the world around them. Without it, people are misguided and lost until they find something to make sense of the world around them. Hence why Atheists are more likely to adopt strong ideological positions and are often targeted by ideologues.

2018-08-28 21:07:39 UTC

we are curious beings, for sure.
