republican spain?

2018-08-28 21:01:25 UTC

Yeah, Republican Spain during the Spanish Civil War.

2018-08-28 21:01:43 UTC

They actually perpetuated crimes against Catholic priests.

2018-08-28 21:01:52 UTC

Well if you want to wipe out all religions, vote for commies, they have tried that many times 🤔

2018-08-28 21:02:14 UTC

People will be always creating new religions

2018-08-28 21:02:21 UTC

You can't really stop that

2018-08-28 21:02:27 UTC

Religion as a PERSONAL thing is fine. when it is forced, then its a problem

2018-08-28 21:02:39 UTC

Its part of our psychology.

2018-08-28 21:02:56 UTC

over time we may be able to overcome that

2018-08-28 21:03:02 UTC

or at least, tame it

2018-08-28 21:03:57 UTC

Lets say you take 50children from all of the nations, and then abandon them to random island for 20years.
When you come back they have invented their own religion

2018-08-28 21:04:25 UTC

and they will hold fast to their belief and they will be the right one and all others will be blasphemy

2018-08-28 21:04:39 UTC

No, you really can't.

2018-08-28 21:05:06 UTC

The problem is human nature is wired to desiring order and sense in seeming chaos and madness. It's why religion is as popular as it is.

2018-08-28 21:05:19 UTC

Even if the religion doesnt teach that the gods have created the world, even then the young children will say that earth was created by god(s).

2018-08-28 21:05:33 UTC

I believe it would happen... it is in our nature to be curious.. as children we always ask questions.... in a remote location with no other influence, stories would be made up to answer those questions

2018-08-28 21:06:48 UTC

People turn to religion because it attempts to bring about a sense of order and clarity needed to make sense of the world around them. Without it, people are misguided and lost until they find something to make sense of the world around them. Hence why Atheists are more likely to adopt strong ideological positions and are often targeted by ideologues.

2018-08-28 21:07:39 UTC

we are curious beings, for sure.

2018-08-28 21:07:51 UTC

my view is that religion stops the question

2018-08-28 21:08:05 UTC

what more is there to ask when every answer is "god"?

2018-08-28 21:08:58 UTC

Not necessarily, no. Religion simply provides order and clarity to help guide us through our lives. Curiosity is good, but too much of a good thing becomes a vice.

2018-08-28 21:09:58 UTC

We wont ever fully understand the world, all of the versatility & complexity can be proof of designer for some people.

2018-08-28 21:10:13 UTC

But, yeah, back on Republican Spain, they did some extremely horrific stuff.

2018-08-28 21:10:25 UTC

I think there is no such thing as too much curiosity. We want and need answers... regardless of the fact we will never understand it all, the pursuit of knowledge is what has driven advancements for a looooong time

2018-08-28 21:10:44 UTC

so... Republican Spain.. are we talking right wing?

2018-08-28 21:10:51 UTC

No, Left-wing.

2018-08-28 21:10:55 UTC

They were Communists.

2018-08-28 21:11:06 UTC

confused by the term"republican" used there

2018-08-28 21:11:08 UTC

Nationalist Spain was the right-wing contengent.

2018-08-28 21:11:24 UTC

People have always been searching for meaning & explonation for the world. For some people best answer is God, because with God and religion you can have fundamental meaning behind everything.

2018-08-28 21:11:45 UTC

But, yeah, Republican Spain hated religion so much that they actually perpetrated Post-Mortem desecration.

2018-08-28 21:11:45 UTC

I personally believe that "god" is an excuse to stop asking and looking

2018-08-28 21:12:09 UTC

God was reason why people started to investigate the world

2018-08-28 21:12:19 UTC

initially, yes.

2018-08-28 21:12:19 UTC

(At least in christianity)

2018-08-28 21:12:38 UTC

people don't know that science was actually based initially from church influences

2018-08-28 21:12:46 UTC

Not really, no.

2018-08-28 21:12:48 UTC

Doesn't apply for muslims, as their inventions lasted for only 100years

2018-08-28 21:12:49 UTC

however when the evidence started to state things to the contrary, they grew apart

2018-08-28 21:13:01 UTC

yes little boots, yes.

2018-08-28 21:13:08 UTC

the first scientists were of the church
