I don't think that's odd.
I think those kind of pacakages get sent all the time.
I find it odd how they report on it.
It's a pretty convenient way to frame themselves as the recipients of violence.
It might be a regular occurrence, but make a big news story out of it and sympathy turns towards Democrats.
I would like to see stats on how often packages like those get sent.
I have a suspicion that, if we understood this better, this might be a nothing burger.
That is what I was thinking as well. It feels like someone trying to drum up sympathy for them.
And at no point were they in any real danger
I am just not sure why they would pick Obama and Hillary.
didn't a bomb also get sent to the white house?
This sounds like a complete nothing burger.
No. They initially said it was but then retracted it
I don't understand why Tim got so excited.
how legit is this?
sorry if this is wrong place for it
sending bombs to politicians isn't normal, nor should it ever be
it's definitely something that ppl can get worked up about
Who the hell said it should be normal?
DO you think it should be normal that an infant dies in Africa?
Do we have a report on it every time it happens?
<:MercyWut:303986595395010564>
Don't put words in my mouth.
infants die, that's normal
we'll never reach 0% infant mortality
And depending on how often the Secret Service intercepts suspicious packages, THAT might be normal.
no need to get all defensive tho, i wasn't attacking your personally
"sending bombs to politicians isn't normal, nor should it ever be"
ya
i stand by that statement
So you are saying that infant deaths should be normal?
<:WaitWhat:433646897383866369>
Because that is exactly the attribution you are trying to make.
dude, you're making leaps here
the abnormality of sending bombs is something we agree on
You attributed to me saying that we should accept it as normal, based on how frequently it happens.
no, you've falsely inferred that
"sending bombs to politicians isn't normal, nor should it ever be
it's definitely something that ppl can get worked up about"
My argument was based on how frequently this happens, not the nature or the severity of the incident itself.
cool
