*sarcasm* by the way
It's not a long time that I have returned to church, I had my phase of agnosticism like @Iakovos too
Maybe a year or two that I devoted myself again
I returned to pray daily also
Ah ok cool
So you’re also a recent return to Christianity.
Yes
So when I do feel ready I'll probably try fasting and return to do the communion each week
So you’ve been back in church for 1-2 years, but not taking communion?
Yes
Ah ok
Do you have to do anything officially for the priest to let you do communion or have you just not done it?
You don't, you may even cheat and eat before the communion but you would only cheat yourself
The only time a priest can reject your request of communion
is if you have sinned (a lot) and try to speak it with the priest. He will order you a fasting for a month or even more depends on your sins and after that he will allow you to go again for a communion
that mostly happens in your local churches
So if the priest determines, during your confession, that you’ve sinned a lot he will ask you to fast for a period of time before he lets you partake of communion again?
What's to stop someone from accepting communion in the hand and then sneaking out?
The lightning rod of Jesus 🤷🏼♂️
The people around you
Well here too
It is here too 🤣
you could pick pocket it but you would sin greatly
for a minimum "reward"
But a Satanist could go and pretend to be Orthodox, get the bread and then leave
It's necessary for the satanic black mass to have consecrated bread. Former satanists have said they can actually tell the difference in consecrated and unconsecrated
It must be conducted by a priest who of course has left the Church. But Orthodox ordination is exactly as valid as Catholic. They have apostolic succession
And so is Orthodox Eucharist.
We do not have problem with satanists here though, nowdays with the newer generations we could see a rise
So I don't understand why it never seems to happen to Orthodox
Black mass has to be done by ex-priests?
Yes
Interesting...
@Deleted User I don't know for the slavic people
Orthobros could just be lucky in Europe.
but the generation of my father/mother had a 90+% unity in church
Does it not happen here?
while mine generation had 60+%
Same here too. Once upon a time this would be unthinkable
nowdays we have fallen to 36%
