You're thinking of tribulation, strife, or an all around shitty experience

2019-05-22 20:27:19 UTC

oh yeah, i was talking about the tribulations

2019-05-22 20:27:35 UTC

didn't know the Rapture wasn't part of that, didn't read revelations in depth

2019-05-22 20:28:58 UTC

So the official catholic stance on the rapture, is it isn’t a thing?

2019-05-22 20:32:20 UTC

Correct

2019-05-22 20:34:49 UTC

Oh

2019-05-22 20:34:52 UTC

Interesting.

2019-05-22 20:35:13 UTC

So where does it come from then, if not the Bible?

2019-05-22 20:51:34 UTC

Puritans I think

2019-05-22 20:59:46 UTC

2019-05-22 21:25:27 UTC

@Andrules The book of Revelations is also a prophecy about Jerusalem being destroyed.

2019-05-22 21:26:31 UTC

The 7 headed beast (City of 7 Hills) is Rome, and the Harlot (Jerusalem) sits on top of it. It talks about the harlot being a city in which Christ our Lord being crucified. That confirms the Harlot is Jerusalem.

Eventually, the beast grows angry with the harlot, and consumes her with fire. (The burning of Jerusalem).

2019-05-22 21:26:48 UTC

This will be enabled

2019-05-22 21:26:52 UTC

Though I might be wrong.

2019-05-22 21:26:56 UTC

when they rebuilt the temple of solomon there

2019-05-22 21:27:23 UTC

Thats when the end-times will begin

2019-05-22 21:38:10 UTC

Yeah I’ve read revelations.

2019-05-22 21:38:24 UTC

Did a very small study on it one time.

2019-05-22 21:39:25 UTC

The most time and effort I put into studying a part of the Bible was the story of Elijah.

2019-05-22 21:39:56 UTC

Everything Elijah did was to show how weak/powerless/nonexistent Baal was.

2019-05-22 21:40:45 UTC

Honestly, Revelations for now isn't pertinent to our salvation. It will be made readily available for us to understand when the time is necessary. Some has already passed, I believe more is to come.

2019-05-22 21:41:45 UTC

With that thinking, all we need is Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

2019-05-22 21:42:13 UTC

Could probably even just cut it down to one of them 🤷

2019-05-22 21:46:24 UTC

@Andrules wrong. The Apostles had the Holy Spirit and revealed for us more commandments.

2019-05-22 21:46:52 UTC

The problem is, we can't understand all of Revelations. It's a metaphor. Some has already passed, some is yet to come I believe.

2019-05-22 21:47:11 UTC

Mostly, I believe it was a code written to the Churches so that they can be saved.

2019-05-22 21:47:51 UTC

Actually we don't even need the Bible. The faith is older than the book.
