I'm still mourning Star wars
i never liked harry potter even as a kid
no more like she believes it is a great goliath of a novel series
as if it instills timeless virtue and lessons and reflects our world in masterful writing
no, it's a simple kid's book series and there's nothing more to it
it stands for nothing greater than "evil bad, good good, good will win"
HP isn't that bad, but it has a bad writing. She was just lucky that the "magicians" section was stagnant when she released HP and the movie adaptions helped it to boost it
and for her to be relevant now she just cutter to sjws as she can't keep afloat with her writing
i think it's bad, but i have never read it so from a writing perspective i have no argument against it
but i do not like its worldbuilding or lore
it's very simple and o idk aimed at children
so for a children's thing, i actually have no issue with it
but
there are people who are 20-30+ years old who are like WOW THIS IS EPIC
like grow up get into some more interesting and complex lore
like Lord of the Rings, if you like fantasy so much
Well HP was meant for kids/teenagers
get into some stuff with some meat to it
i know
Nothing can touch Lotr, its the biggest thing that we have over on fantasy
We can take Science Fiction back in a heartbeat
We just need someone to publish
i'm not a good writer because i don't write a lot
but i do have a science fiction universe partially set up
i'm not working on it right now though, busy working on my D&D campaign world
We need game workshops to stop jerking around and get WH40K to the big screen
I was working on a futuristic WWI
i specialize in creating original universes, because i like settings where it is similar to earth, but not
My writing is abysmal, the only thing I'm capable to write down is some campaigns for DnD with high scripts for the story and to pull shit from my arse when my friends ruin everything haha
but that depends only when I'm in good mood, so it's rare
the scifi thing, for example, takes place in its own universe entirely but has a planet similar (geopgraphically, historically, etc different), with humans as the apex species obviously, but it had two suns, and i had gone and underlined its fundamental physics
introducing two new fundamental forces which play into the cosmology of the universe
it would be sci-fi in the fact that a time setting equivalent to modern day would include more advanced technology, and it'd quickly advance past modern day into a future where there would eventually be moon colonization and so forth
it is also designed to be about geopolitics between countries
certain countries being exaggerated forms of government and ideology
one country for example was a literal corporatocracy that was fully privatized, companies were elected by the people as well as representatives that acted as senators
the leader held his position for life until dead
the military acted as a private military contractor company that was loyal to country first, but was contracted worldwide second
on the opposite, another country was incredibly militaristic
a true stratocracy
