so I'd love to write a review for a game
Damn spain forced a colonial war and I had to save his ass 😦
all my reserves depleted as I fought half EU alone...
What game is that?
Europa Universalis 4
Ah ok
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GN2WFrzn2Ho brand new video review
lol
How’s the game play for that? Like Civ or like Total War?
Nothing like them tbh
They give a big emphasis on the Grand strategy part, so for the most part you are just fine-tuning your nation
Ah. So it’s macro scale government policies? How do the battles work, do you get to control anything?
For battles, you only control the stacks and command them to where to go
after that if you collide with an enemy the fight goes down with pure stats and dices
Ah. So basically like Civ combat then.
Kinda, but really no as it have a backbone with tradition of your army/ width battles etc. It's kinda a small simulator of what would happen but you just see numbers fly 😛
Wait... how does it compare to Stellaris?
Well it's like stellaris, without all this choreography on battles you just have 2 pawns with each one have a bar for morale. If you press on them It shows the width/tactics each commander use
Oh. Well damn.
Was hoping it’d be like Total War. So I could have phyrric victories with my small army.
Spelled that wrong... and I think I used it wrong too...
Pyrrhic
Well, you can still do that if you have a technological advantage or a lot of discipline/morale
but I prefer it like that so they can go in more depth on politics/nations like they did
Yeah that makes sense it’d be that way with the low combat.
Well, first playthrough on this expansion and still did great I believe
Does it have a “time limit” to complete?
Like in years or whatever.
yeah
it ends on 1821
Start year? And each turn is a year?
and it starts on 1444
Well the game run like this. You start on 1444 on November 11.
each game time calculates by day
and each month that pass is your turn as you get your money from provinces/and some things happen.
when a year pass you get some modifiers for your prestige etc and lose tradition /projection if you haven't fought etc
